I was having trouble with my 2 of my Tire Pressure sensors, so I took them off my car sent them to get new batteries. I got them back, put them on my car, relearned the sensors and 2 of them are still not working. Now originally (before the battery swap) I could not get one of the sensor to even learn when I went thru the process. I can now get them all to learn but as I said I cannot get 2 of them to show a reading. Are my sensors bad or is it something else?
I did not know the batteries could be replaced. Are you sure they were? Typically guys purchse new sensors when they have problems. I of course could be wrong.
How long did you drive? I have had it take up to 10 minutes for the XXX to go away. I just changed all 4 batteries in mine this week and the car learned them in 6 seconds each. The real test will be when I get it back on the road in a couple months and drive it.
Keep us posted

Who rebuilt them? There are a couple new guys on here who rebuild them besides me and they may have messed the circuit board up as they are VERY fragile, that may be your issue. I know when I started to rebuild them 2 years ago I messed up my first batch but you live and learn, I have done over 200 now with no issues and have a way to 100% test them (both learning and a pressure check).

Don, How do you do the pressure check? I just rebuilt all 4 with new batteries and would love to see if the pressure part works before I mount them in my new chrome rims. I was wondering if you tied them to the end of a string and gave them a good spin if that would work.
I might have to pull a Mcgiever and rig something up
At lunch I drove the car at 80+mph for 10 min.....still not getting a pressure reading just LFXXXX, RFXXXX
I tried to "learn" the same tire twice to fool the car, but obviously the car is smarter than Iam.
Relearned sensor but started on the rear tires instead of the front, so the front sensors were reading the rear tires and the rear sensors reading the front tires. I drove it again for 10 min @ 80+mph and now I get areading from the front tires (which really are the rear) and LRXXX, RRXXX. I guess this tells me the sensors on the front are bad. The really weird thing is with a magnet I am able to get the car to acknowledge the sensors are there, they just cant get a pressure reading.
Do you think the guy messed up my sensors when he replaced the batteries. Dwayne in Cali did them, he seemed like a straight-up guy who knew what he was doing. I tried today to contact him, but could not talk to him. Again I just installed them today, and I am not bashing him or saying he ripped me off-especially since I havent talkred to him. I'll give him a few days and let you know how it works out.
I am selling the car and need to get this resolved ASAP, anyone have 2 sensors for a 98 they want to sell?
Sounds like he may have accidently messed up the circuit board. Like CorvetteDon said, very fragile stuff in there.
I ordered new ones from Gene. Expensive, but I won't have to worry about them for about 10 years.
I found a great way to test them. After you relearn all 4 sensors Put one in a small camera case with a strap. I went to the rear driver side of the car and spum the case like a tire would spin. You will get a warning within 10 seconds or so that you have a flat. Hit reset on the DIC and test another sensor. My car now thinks I have 4 flat tires
Please tell me there is a video of you testing your TPS?
