Default Issues closing hood..need some help.

So I am not sure where to even begin but I can surely describe it.

The hood will close on the drivers side and latch just fine but the passanger side will go in the latch but not lock, i have tried pushing it down and it just slings back out.

Ideas?

With the hood about a foot above closing, push in the middle area at the trailing edge and slam it. I have to do that sometimes.

I will try that but I think it has to do with the latch. Becuase I can set it on the latches on both sides and push the drivers into lock but the passanger is like a kid on a trampoline.

Make sure the interior latch is fully retracted.

The obvious advice is to make sure the bolts are tight and the latch is lubricated.

I have the same problem if I drop the hood holding it at one side. The hood drops out of square and only latches one side

As suggested, hold the hood in the center and drop it from about 2 feet so that it slams.

It may just be technique

Adjust the rubber bumper(one by the battery) down about 1/2 turn at a time till you can drop the hood from about 10 inches(holding it in the middle) and both sides latch.
Don't want to go too far down with it,or the corner of the hood won't line up right with the top of the door.
If you loosen the 3 10mm bolts that hold the latch, and pull straight up on it while you tighten the bolts back down, you may get enough adjustment out of it to do the trick without having to adjust the rubber bumper.

Hit this one right on the noggen. I had this problem (passenger side) a few months back and the guy at the local vette body shop gave me the samd advice and it worked.

A lot of people have this problem but the holding at the center rear of the hood and drop method works well for me.

Had to pull up latch on mine. Before adjusting I did notice hood was down just a bit. This was when the car was new.

Heres my problem.
When I close my hood, the passenger side pulls the hood causing the drivers side to have a large gap along the fender and hood. When I pull the latch on the inside of the car and go to raise the hood, clearly you can see and hear the corner of the hood sortof pop back. The hood is straight when i put it down all the way without actually shutting it, but when I drop it from about 12 inches, the hood pulls into the passenger side.
Hope this makes sense.
Its very hard to see exactly where the hood is coming down on the latch and the last time I tried to fix this, I spent about an hour and a half just trying to get the hood to close again. It just would not catch. Something is not lining up but what do I do if I can't see the problem? This is driving me nuts. Any ideas as to what to do.
I hate that I can't figure it out.
Thanks.

Put masking tape on the hood catches, and then try to shut the hood. It will mark the tape where the latches are hitting the striker, and give you a place to start looking.

Didn't even think to do that. I'll try that. Thank you.
