Hey all! All systems are "go" for my final retirement celebration at the end of May. I have been hanging around the Forum for about 9 years and have received some really great information from some really great members. Starting with my C4 and up to and including my 2000 vert and 2003 Z06, I have been greatly impressed with the vast amount of camaraderie and support from individuals and those who advertise on the Forum. I also believe that the moderators do a sometimes thankless task and do it well. Now that retirement is looming on the horizon, I hope to spend more time cruising the highways and the Forum. If there are any more "older" than dirt retirees out there, maybe we can start maintain a thread on how we spend those well-earned retirement days with our favorite ride.

You'll love it!!! Did it 2 years ago and never looked back! Only prob, your fuel costs will sky rocket and you'll be looking for all of the "Toy" Add-On sites on the Net.
My last day is tomorrow (Friday). Happy and sad at the same time. Those last couple of years sure flew by.
I know the feeling. When I left the police department after 36 years, I left friends that I had known for years and my home-away-from-home. It was much more emotional than I ever thought it would be. I remember driving to work that morning and thinking in just a little over 8 hours I wouldn't be a cop anymore. I tried to be tough, but I had tears in my eyes when I walked out the door for the last time. The good news . . . You get over the sadness very quickly and every day is now a Saturday. You've worked hard all your life . . . enjoy it!
I’ve been retired since 2003. Didn’t realize how much work got in the way of fun. If you think time goes by quickly now, just wait until you’re retired.
I'm very jealous. I'm about 4wks away from 60, but my retirement funds at 50% of what they were 15 mo. ago and the fact I will be putting my 16 yr old daughter thru college on Soc. Security, I won't be retiring till I'm 75!! BTW, all my wife's family comes from Elizabethtown, great area to drive a vett!! Have fun.
I am only 47 but the way things look today I might be dead before I get to retire

I''ve been teaching high school Biology for 38.7 years, just turned 62 and turned in my retirement forms last month. I still love what I am doing (the kids are great, enjoy the company of my colleagues, enjoy the challenge of teaching college-level courses) but it's time to pass the torch and spend more time with the love of my life. Bet you thought I was going to say our vette didn't you?
I've been limiting the "Great White" to around 10K miles/year but I think we might be adding another 4-5K after retirement.
