Default Retirement Papers Are In!!

Hey all! All systems are "go" for my final retirement celebration at the end of May. I have been hanging around the Forum for about 9 years and have received some really great information from some really great members. Starting with my C4 and up to and including my 2000 vert and 2003 Z06, I have been greatly impressed with the vast amount of camaraderie and support from individuals and those who advertise on the Forum. I also believe that the moderators do a sometimes thankless task and do it well. Now that retirment is looming on the horizon, I hope to spend more time cruising the highways and the Forum. If there are any more "older" than dirt retirees out there, maybe we can start maintain a thread on how we spend those well-earned retirement days with our favorite ride.

Ron

Welcome to the wonderful world of retirement. My avatar pretty well sums up what I'm doing.

Like you, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. After @#%* years of active duty (How Long?!!!) I plan to spend some quality time with the Corvette. People keep asking me what I'll do to fill my time. I have plenty of ideas

Maybe we can compare notes

I'm very jealous. I'm about 4wks away from 60, but my retirement funds at 50% of what they were 15 mo. ago and the fact I will be putting my 16 yr old daughter thru college on Soc. Security, I won't be retiring till I'm 75!! BTW, all my wife's family comes from Elizabethtown, great area to drive a vett!! Have fun.

Enjoy your future-----it's great.

We have sure enjoyed our retirement (my wife and I both retired in June of 2006). For the first time in my life, it seems like I can do the things I want to do----instead of what the "job" required!!

If your travels bring you to SE Minnesota, give me a shout.

Congratulations! I've been retired for about 14 months & each morning I go out to the garage and check on my C5 to make sure the battery tender is working. Can't wait for the weather to break!
Enjoy life and cruising!

Congratulations "every day is Friday from this point on"

Been out for a few years now. Kept busy with some family stuff at home (wifes mom ill, wife surgery), but thats all cleared up.
Now . . .I feel like Im retired

But, now we find that we need a very small amount of additional $ to feel comfortable, so . . .oddly enough, you are leaving in May and I should be starting a one or two day work week by then

Oh well, I think it will help structure my week better anyway, looking forward to it.

Dont know what you did for a living but one day you'll be standing there in the morning, sipping cofee, looking out at two feet of snow and you'll say " yup, someone is on there way in, must be a B__ch, but . . .that someone isn't me "

Enjoy

Like wise Congratulations, I am on my second year of retirement, i must admit it takes some patience to get use to. But the opportunities that are now open are invalueable. Good luck and enjoy.
