Default Help with steering column lock

I have a 99 six speed vette and last year I had the dealer replace the wiring harness and it went bad again. So i took it back and it has been at the dealer for three weeks and they still don't know when they will get a replacement. I was hoping someone knew where i could purchase this harness. Or if this was going to continue to be a problem after they replace it.

Thank you in advance for your reply

ACCCCKKK!!! The dealership screwed you before by doing one of the the column lock recalls and you have your car back there again waiting for the parts for another screwing? Read the Column Lock sticky thread. Get your car away from the dealership even if you have to have it towed home and get a CLB and install it yourself. Several forum vendors sell CLBs. I got mine from Corvettes of Houston.

This is one of the sorriest stories with the C5. GM have now tried to fix the column lock problem with 4 recalls. The first three failed dismally. The 4006C recall seemed to be better from whats posted here, but there are still issues, particularly with the fuel shut off.

with jclarksnakes' advice. Just get a clumn lock bypass and have done with it. The CLB fools the car into thinking the column lock has disengaged. Its rare to hear of any problems with the CLB. It costs $50 and takes 30 mins to fit. Then you can rest easy.

The recall was done on mine before I bought it, but I have a new CLB sitting here. What would I have to undo so that I can put the CLB in (in place of the factory recall), just in case this prob comes back?

Another vote for the CLB. Problem free since I installed it a few years ago.
