I usually give the thumbs up or wave at them. That really gets them going. Or if I get a chance I tell them to come to the track.

When I get sh t about the lowly vette and how I should have bought a (front) porch or (vindow) wiper, I say

"there are those who talk about sports car, and then there are those who actually own one"

"you can't argue until you own a car with at least 350 HP"

"no clutch available from the manufacturer. and you call it a sports car"

I've never owned a RustStain myself.

Hey ralphyboy;

People in traffic do that ALL the time...esp. when at a stand still. It never ceases to amaze me at all the people in the rice burners and the ruststangs (thanks for the tetnaus one btw) rev up their engines but when its toe to toe...they coward down...its put up or shut up...

Cant wait to see what the other posts have to say

There's always "Mouse-stang"

The other approach is - it doesn't matter which is FASTER. You could have a '53 with a blue flame 6. It's still a Corvette. No comparison, end of story.

What can you say about a car that is named after a horse that can't be controlled?

It has already been said, but how about once more:

Ignore them. It makes them even more furious.

I can't count the number of Rustang and F150's that wanna race me in the 01 TR Vert at redlights during the summer season. I usually just smile and continue on.

Always remember, EVERY Mustang wishes it was a Corvette!!

I was drivin home after 12 hours night shift and one was behind me until we had a long stretch where he went into his full afterburner. Lots of noise but not much motion. I just smiled and left mine on cruise. A few miles up the road you guessed it, Blue lights everwhere! I just went by and bumped the horn. I think he showed me how many friends I just lost! Was not even worth my time. By the way I absoulutely loved the tampon joke joke!

A guy I work with was in my office the other day telling me about his (grown) kid who just bought a new Stang GT V8, all the mods. blah blah, blah.

He starts spewing all these so-called "facts" and figures about the performance and how 'fast' it is. Since I do have to work in the same office with him, I just sort of listened and nodded in quasi-agreement, then said.

"Yeah. that sounds pretty damn impressive -(pause) for a straight line car".

He didn't get it. Flew right over his head..... Damn I love to mentally smoke these stang idiots.

How is your son doing at Elon?
They don't do that kind of thing around here. However, everyone in things from Toyota Minivans, Buicks, and Hondas around here have to try to fly by me on the highway as if I was going to pull up next to them and race. They always seem to want to go faster when I'm around in the Vette, even though I'm usually just cruising about 5 or so mph above the limit. Too many cops in unmarked cars here, and the towns look at tickets as an unlimited source of revenue for them.

My son is doing well at Elon ( A's and B's). It's a good school, and he is studying sports medecine and physical therapy. Thanks for asking.

BTW, I have to admit, that I'm on my third Ford Explorer ( 93 with 115 K, 98 with 130 K, and my present one 05 with 50K miles). For a work truck that can carry 5 to 7 passengers, they are fine, and I've never really had many problems with any of them.
