installing a short throw shifter

i found a write up a few months back on how to remove the stock shifter and all your interior parts in order to replace the c5 shifter, now i cant find it anywhere, can sombody help me out?

If you are installing a MGW, it comes w/instructional CD...very simple to follow. Tip: when removing the "demon key" from your stock ****, use a paint can opener to pry up on the corners. Instructions say to use a screwdriver...good luck w/that!

wrap the leather **** w/ a rag, and use 2 flat screw drivers one on each side to pry it up, Its the only way it will come up, 1 screw driver wont work.

Absolutely right, using the two flat blade screw drivers is a excellent tip. I also used LPS Penetrate fluid on the key make the removal easier.
