Default Bugs on front end!!!!

I washed my 03 Vert up on Saturday and cleaning the front end really kills me! (I'm 6-2). Does anyone use bug spray remover on their Vette? I didn't know how it would react on the fiberglass. Any other suggestions?

I just use a mixture of car wash soap ( a drop ) into a spray bottle of water ...... spray on .... let soak ....... wipe lightly .... if need too .. spray on again ..... soak again. My thought is .... soften up the bugs guts too where they just wipe off lightly, instead of having to rub hard ............. works!

The front nose is bug magnet.

I use bug spray for the really bad summer nights otherwise I use Maguires Detailer. So far I have not noticed any damage to the clear coat using bug spray. When I do use I usually follow up with a coat of wax just incase.

Don't come to Florida when the Love Bugs are out. You need to get them removed as soon as possible. I wash them off if I simple stop for gas before I get back on the road. If you leave these things on they will eat right through the clearcoat.

Just use a towel that you've soaked in super hot water (not boiling, but as hot as you stand it). Lay it accross the front end for a minute or two, and wipe the bugs away. Motorcycle guys have been doing this for years.

Good idea. I usually just used a really moist Absorber and wiped the bug remains off that way. Didn't have to rub hard at all.

I don't konw how they react to every clear coat, but I don't think they are quite that bad. Its not like the are full of acid like in Aliens or anything. If we hit some in my wifes car (2005 330xi), I usually wait till after the weekend and then do a good wash and have not had any issues with them. But to each his own...

I also use a spray bottle with some car wash soap (water with a cap full of soap). Spray onto the bugs and let set for a few minutes. The bugs will wipe off with just paper towel

Rejex is a must in the summer with a White vette

Tell me about it I use the hot towel method. Works pretty well. Never heard of Rejex. I pull mine into the garage and lay down on my creeper so I can get close and personal with the little critters. It's terrible bein old and somewhat overweight. Not looking forward to this spring/summer if we have another run of Morman Crickets. They're the worst stinkinest bugs on earth. If you don't get them off right away they'd probably eat through the fiberglass. I installed a radiator screen to at least keep them out of the dark hole. Good ideas here. Been thinkin about a bra for long hwy trips.

True Value carries it. It is $19.00 for a large bottle. I did all 3 cars twice last year and still have over a half bottle.

I use Rejex instead of wax about once a month on both of my Vettes and the bugs are not an issue for me and Texas has lots of those critters

Same here....Meguier's Instant Detailer (I think that's what it's called). Whenever I wax the car I make sure there's a good coat on the front end. With bugs, just spray the detailer on and the bugs will wipe right off.

Like many I soak with Meg quick detailer, down south the love bugs get really bad, then I take an old towel , soak it with water and lay over bugs for a while. This softens them and they lift off without any hard rubbing.

I keep a bottle of quick detail and a microfiber towl in the car. I wipe down the front every other day or so. Just stay on top of it and you will not have the issue.

The nose is NOT fiberglass-it's Urethane (push on it, it flexes). I use spray bug remover and/or PrepSol to remove bugs-no problem.

Keep a good coat of wax on it and they will simply wash off ,if not wax will clean it up nicely.
