Default driver seat controls.

hi. question... some of my power driver seat controls work. the forward and up and down switch but the lumbar and side supports have stopped working. the bezel was cracked. is there an easy way to determine if its the switch or a motor?

Thanks
Ian

not sure if there is an easy way or not - you'll have to work through the wiring diagrams to see if power is going to the motors when the switches are activated.

Mine make noise but won't move. There are lots of threads on here about fixing seat problems, but I've just been too lazy to do it. Try running a search and see if you find anything. Sorry I can't help more.

Did you check your fuses and the maxi breaker in the fuse panel under the toe board on the passenger side?

I'd pull the connector under the seat and put the multi meter on it. If you have power at the connector chances are the plastic elbows on the "plumbing" to the seat bladders have broken. In other words an air rather than an electrical problem.

Yeah, but you'll still hear the pump working, the lumbar section just won't inflate. I think the OPs implying there's no response at all...

Default clarification

97c5owner....I will let you know what happens when I try the replacement switch which will be done friday if all goes according to plan.

I did pull fuse for lumbar and it was fine. also lumbar on passenger side was working fine anyway. I thought maybe circuit breaker for driverside but the other frwd/up/dwn control works ok so wouldn't make sense that a portion of the control would be on circuit breaker and other not.

also there is no sound at all produced when I try lumber/sides so I don't think its bladder issue...at least I hope not!

thanks for the help and giving me the inspiration to di into the fuse box. ill let you guys know what happens..especially for 97c5 since you have same issue.

Good point. The switches are notoriously unreliable.

The bladders are easy to check. Just unzip the seat backs. It'll be obvious if thats the issue.

Default problem solved (it works)

replaced switch. got on one ebay from jazziejunk ebay power seller also got bezel to hold it in place. replaced the seat foam at www.VetteEssentials.com in Michigan. matt changed the foam and the switch. Matt did a great job and was done in less than an hour.

now the seat works great. 97c5owner this sounds like it could be the fix for your seat too!

hope this helps some people out.

thanks for all your help,
ian

I had to replace my drivers track on my 99 because of the pic below.

This Shi! piece of plastic is not available alone just w/ the $600 - $900 seat tracks that come w/ new motors. That leaves me with good working spare motors. let me know if anyone needs one.

These were off a '99.
