I have one of those steam kettles that puts out a blast of steam. I hit all the areas and wipe with a rag and it comes out great. Removes all dust and grime and any hints of grease and oil.
Also works great on the glass to remove all that is there. You can actually see the road filth running off the glass.
I've recently become a big fan of Flash products Royal Brown. You spray it on, wait 30 seconds and wash it off. Everything comes out squeaky clean! I use a pump up garden sprayer to wash everything down. I wouldn't recommend high pressure due to all the electrical connectors and with the Brown Royal it's just not necessary. Best of luck
Spray the engine with Simple Green straight from the bottle. Let it set for about 5 minutes, spray with the hose to rinse of all the residue. Blow off with your compressor. Use a clean towel to polish any shiny stuff. It'll look great!
I won't use simple green on aluminum because it corrodes it. I learned this the hard way on my '93 vette. I love the product, but you have to becareful what you use it on.

Citrus-based cleaners shouldn't corrode aluminum unless a puddle is allowed to sit there for hours. Water will do the same to unprotected aluminum. That's why it is so important to either run the engine or blow off all residual moisture.

Nothing should ever pool.
It's always good to run the engine after a cleaning.
