A question about tires to fit those factory sized C5 rims 17 x 8.5" front and 18 x 9.5" rear.
Still trying to figure out this size issue, the rear must be 1/2 larger diameter then the fronts, can it be too large?
Was looking at the Nitto Invo's but also the Nitto NT05's.
-The Invo 245/40/17 fronts 24.69" dia and the 295/35/18 rears with 26.02" dia so thats 1.33 dia larger.
-The NT05 255/40/17 fronts, 25.08" dia and the 295/35/18 rears with 26.18" dia so thats 1.1" dia larger.
Dont know if that will cause any issues or not with a 1" dia larger size and dont want to buy the wrong tires and get AH/TC problems.
OK bottom line is, everything I can find on the internet says that the largest rim you can put on a 245/45/17 tire is a 17 x 9.0.
Has anyone put a 9.5" wide rim on this tire successfully? If so, did it look and ride right?
17x9.5 and 18x10.5 are the stock C5 Z06 sizes, and they fit all C5's fine.
What if the Z06 rear brake cooling ducts and inner fender panels have been added? Will the 18x10.5 and tire clear the duct. Right now the stock wheel and tire barely clears (1/4-3/8" clearance). If the stock wheel offset is 65mm what would be the minimum new wheel offset?
