Finally drove my first Corvette today, a black C5 Targa auto with 22K miles. Awesome car, hopefully it works out. More money than I planned on spending but...22K!
So how does this wave work? I had a Porsche for a while (fun car, don't blow it up!) and we had the headlight flash. Not really convenient for pop up headlights. So every time you see a Vette you drop the window and stick your hand out? Is it a big Sarah Palin wave, or more of a Tony Stewart thanks-for-giving-me-some-room gesture? What about rain?
Unless yer windows are dark tint you can just wave with them up and I'm sure the other person will see you. I usually just give a raise of the hand as I am holding the steering wheel and that's what most other Vettes I see do. My wife however waves likes she's flagging down a rescue helicopter!

WOW I like Munch's wifes type wave, will try it....OR you can give the "I'm cool and drive a cool car and you are too...so here ya go" type wave.......The arm out the window works and in the rain shows real sincereity.....But ya gotta wave cause there is 3 or 4 kinda snobby folks driving Vettes and ya want to drive them crazy trying to figure out "Who the heck is that guy always waving at me"

I agree with the "Tony Stewart" but my wife drives a Mini Cooper and flagging down rescue helicopters is their official wave, so don't confuse the two... We need an avitar that waves like that.

A nice subtle wave will do - even just lifting your hand from the steering wheel will get noticed. Congrats on the car and enjoy your time behind the wheel.
Maybe its just my observation; but seems like older 30+ people return the wave 100% of the time while the younger generation is either preoccupied in texting or otherwise clueless.
