Hey everyone just went out to start up the Vette a few hours ago and sure enough, "Service Column Lock". I look back on all my paperwork and realize my "recall possability" was done in May of 2005 and they had done the re-wire method. Feb of 2006 the 'new' recall fix came out where you remove the locking plate. So because they used my one time recall option and did a method that was obviously proven faulty, I am now screwed? Any help or info would be awesome!
So what you're saying is you don't like to read the FAQ or use the search feature?
After 10 pages/25 mins of seeing "GM is not required to do more than 1 fix" I gave up lol. I had to leave 1 hour after trying to drive the Vette to go to a wake so I didnt have a chance to read the whole thing. I am going toread the whole thread tonight tonight, I was hoping for someone to comment that may have had experience with a 2nd attempt before I read the whole thing. Thanks
If you can get the wheel unlocked, as DeeGee said, then a CLB is your best option. If it will not unlock then all you can do is get it to a dealer. If you go the dealer route I would suggest you contact GM Customer Care a try the 'pitch a fit' approach to see if they will cover the cost of repairs for you. If it were me, even if I went the dealer route, I would still install a CLB after they fix it
Or maybe find someone local with a HP Tuner or EFI Live and have them "Disable" the column lock feature and change the fuel cut off from 2 mph to 250 mph.
I know this has worked for someone on this forum.
Then install a CLB.
Just a thought.

The problem is you do not want GM touching the car. I would rather touch poop with my hands than let them touch my vette.
Get a CLB from Corvettes of Houston and put it on the car. Report back when that's done.
