Any idea what a stock C5 Z06 can do in a standing mile top speed wise?

Yeah but it's not going to go that fast in the mile. I think the ZR1 pulled right at 180 in the standing mile.

Not sure what the speed in the mile is but top speed on a C5 Zo6 is 170mph at the redline in 5th gear.. Sixth gear is useless for top speed.. It wont come any where near 170 in 6th... In fact the regular 350 hp C5 has a higher top speed (173) than the Z06!.. Its all due to the gearing of the M12 transmission which is only available on the Z06.. The non Zo6 gets a t-56 trans.. The only way to 183 would be to put in a much taller 2.73.1 rear end or slap on a super charger http://www.topspeed.com/cars/chevrol...c5-ar6617.html

155 to 160

stock C5s do 150ish regularly, so i;m guessing and adding a few mph for the weight and gearing

I ran 161 at the Vegas mile last year.

I am not quite stock so maybe 155-157, if you are not at 2400 ' elevation and the ambient air temp is not 103*.

It was a blast, have fun!

Saw 173 on the HUD in my then stock coupe on a taxiway where the runway was closed for painting. Was probably at 6500+ feet though!

i shut her down around 175 on the highway not too long. it was crying at 6500 rpm, shifted into 6th to see what would and and sure enough the car slowed down even when i floored it lol. good ole ecomony gear. maybe a supercharge will help

I have personally gone 275 km/h in my Z with stock tire sizes, which equates to more than 170 mph........

With more power you do not want to attempt a pull in 6th gear. The ring is so small it can't take the pressure of a high speed pull and will fail in spectacular fashion.

My 5th pulls to 220mph BTW.

I'm calculating that on 295/35/18 you can do 175 @ 6500rpm in a Z.

Am I close?

3.42 gears, regular t-56 trans gearing (5th =.74) and 345/30/19 tires.

My 4th pulls to 155mph which is just over my trap speed.

I did 179-180 with the rev limiter bumped and some other stuff with HPtuners. Slightly taller tires also. There is a thread on the subject of top speed somewhere on here. They explain what is needed to be done in the ecu for more speed.

Stock I did 172 bouncing off the rev limiter.

On a side note I hold the top speed record on a local dyno at over 210 mph.

Can you elaborate a bit on this? I'm missing the point on why you should not go to 6th in a high speed run, even when you're making big hp (600+)

The cogs in the trans that couple to create your 6th gear are so small that they cannot withstand the forces acting on them from the motor pushing against the wind at that speed.

The more HP you have, the less you should try 6th gear pulls.

I'll pull 6th going up hills and such, but I don't dare get full boost behind it even with my RPM trans.
