Need some car help.................................... ......

I have a 2000 corvette, it runs fine but it has a little problem. Sometimes when I start the car this very annoying squeaking sound comes from the engine. Also, the squeaking gets louder when I press the gas. It goes away after the car reaches a certain RPM but I also notice that when the car is squeaking, the battery voltage goes down. It usually stops the noise when the voltage goes back up. Is this a Belt problem? I am totally clueless. Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, it sounds like your drive belt is slipping which in turn reduces the sped at which the alternator pulley is rotating. Have that belt replaced, ASAP.
