Default LED switchback help

I'm looking at the LED switchbacks on autoillumination, and I'm curious how big of a difference the would be between the 20, 30, 48, and 60 LED towers, and if the larger ones would even fit.

Also, they have a harness on the site thats supposed to correct the hyperflash for $5.99 - anyone have any expirience with this harness? does it work?

Haven't used their harness but I know the 48s and the 60s fit. I don't know the difference in brightness but as usual more lights, more bright. (I assume)

I quit buying from autolumination because I had so many problems with the LED's I got from them (non working, or wrong item). I didn't see any harness for $5.99 on their site. The closest thing I saw was a load resistor for about that price, they will fix hyperflash but one must be installed at each bulb and they get very hot. They will melt plastic and fiberglass if they come in contact with it.

I have the 48 LED ones. I didn't know they had a 60.

As far as their harness, I think you mean Load Equalizers.

They are not worth it! I bought them and they get really hot!! They smelled like there was an electrical fire.
I swapped them out for a hyper flash bypass harness. Works a lot better!!

I got my 60 LED Switchbacks from Autoillumination and one cooked itself the first day. They said to send it back and if it was actually burned up they would replace it.

Anyway, where else can you get them from?? I know JWMotoring has LEDs but Jhonathan told me to get them from Autoillumination.

Just wondering if you are having any trouble with your led's? I installed this same harness with the 60 led switchbacks from autolumination along with some 194 led's. After only a couple days use, now I have no DRL's, marker lights front or back, tail lights don't work, dash lights don't work, fog lights don't work and my headlights popped up the first time I tried them but would not go down. I manually lowered the lights and now they won't go up. They do light up, just won't move up or down. Brake lights and turn lights still work. Any thoughts as to what I burned up? I have not had time to look into it and won't be able to til Wednesday afternoon.

Check your #6 mini fuse in your passenger side footwell and I believe the #8 mini fuse in the engine compartment. I experienced the same issue when I tested the 60 LED tower. I contacted the distributor about the issue and they were going to notify the manufacturer. Personally, I would avoid the 60 LED towers and go with the 48 LED towers until they are able to correct the burnout issue.

Thanks for the info. So it's a 60 led problem and probably not the wire harness? That would be great news and I hope it works out that I didn't burn up any wires or anything.

Appreciate the help.

I wonder why autolumination's 60 LEDS are having these problems when ours aren't. I tested these on my car and they work flawlessly. They also seem to be more compact than the autolumination version.

I have the 48's but I noticed a lot of them are not working. I'm not happy about having to buy them again.

mstromquist I'm sending you a PM that may help.

Appreciate the help. Changed both fuses as they were blown. Took the led's out and everything is back to normal now. Lights all work again. My switchback led's from autolumination smelled burnt and my passenger side socket is all brown like it got pretty warm. Going to have to change that soon. Thanks for the help everyone.

I have had their original switchbacks for a couple of years. They worked without any trouble. So....I got a pair of Autolumination's 60 switchbacks. The 60 Switchbacks are much brighter than the originals. The Amber/White model. They fryed my fuses. They would strobe white, then flash amber. That is until the fuses went. I emailed them and they said they are having trouble with their 60 LED's on Corvettes. They are trading them out for the Amber/Off switchbacks. They label them (A/W) amber/white or (A/O) amber off. I will post up results when I get the A/O's.

I will be giving them a call tomorrow then when I find the time. See if they will replace mine as well. I had the same ones and they also blew the fuses.
