I've seen people differentiate between the =<73 C3 and the >73 C3, can someone detail the differences?

The '73 has the chrome rear bumper and tail area like the pre '73, but has the plastic nose of the '74, but without the little bumperettes (rubber bulbs) that appeared in '75.

68 to 72 had chrome bumpers front and rear.

73 had rubber baby bumper up front only (chrome on rear).

74-82 had rubber baby bumpers on front & rear.

Note that there was also a body style diff. in 70 with added molded in mud flaps contours that really looked great. Wish they had done the same with the C5!

I'd have to go with the mid-year cars, followed by the C5.

I like the c3 from 68 to 71 and the c5
the c6's are nice but the early c3's and c5's are a timeless design imho.

Along with the above examples, I think it should be mentioned that the motors went straight down the toilet after 1973, with 1980 being the last year without a computer, and 1982 having the dreaded crossfire injection. I could be a little off in the details, but I would also be in the =<1973 group, with a 1969 blue convertible with chrome bumbers and side pipes being my favorite C3. My Mom had a 1975 while I was growing up, and I think it had a whopping 175 HP or some crap like that. It was nice when I was a kid, but . . .

wasn't the question of looks though? After all, a good number of C3 owners have modifed the cars for speed anyway. My 74 can out run my 99 (in a straight line anyway). It came with the L48, just didn't leave it that way....

The one YOU like the best....beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Many like midyears best, next is probably C1. I go back and forth between midyear coupes and 69-72 shark T-tops. My C5 ZO6 is best car to drive, but not most fun. Of course, my opinion only.

So you only look at the outside of the car? Those >73 motors weren't much to look at, while performing like turds. Just thought it should be noted, if that's alright with you.

Not only that, but your post didn't even answer the OP's question. Nice reply.

I love the very early C1's even though they had terrible fit and finish and ran like trucks! Something about those mesh-covered headlights

Personally I love the one in my garage. Torch red C5. I've always loved them, and in that color ! Maybe cause I was getting closer to retirement and closer to the time I might be able to enjoy things enough to get one. C5=1st, C1 2nd.
