over the last few months I started noticing my steering did not feel as solid as it should have. It has been so minor that I really don't know when it started. Occasionally I would notice the steering would shake a little when hitting a bump. This is not to be confused with any play in the steering as in turning left or right, like you'd get with a worn rack or tie rod ends.
So today I was sitting at a traffic light, and I noticed that I can actually flex the wheel - by pushing on the 9 o'clock position while pulling on the 3 o'clock position and vice versa. I'm assuming the nut that's holding the wheel to the steering shaft is slightly loose, allowing the wheel to flex.
Anyone else experience this?
I've never taken an airbag equipped wheel apart. I guess I'll be adding this to my todo list.
