It does go off on its own, so there is no real reason to do anything.
However, I love those stupid little projects that really solve no issue....so I installed a really cool looking switch on the radiator shroud to solve a non-issue. I had fun anyway.

Thanks Paul, so everything goes off after a while, I've never had everything opened at the same time. If I park it for viewing,
(not in a show), I usually just have the top off and the hood opened. I know the hood light goes off, since I have a habit of opening the hood when I return, and put her in the garage.
We've only owned our 03 AE for three weeks. The under hood light did not work. I finally took a look at it yesterday and found it was unplugged. I plugged it in, opened the door and close it, waited 30 minutes and the under hood light did not go out. Probably why it was unplugged. Were do you purchase the short wiring harness with the switch? Seems it would be the easiest fix.
It is very easy to reach the plug to unplug it rather than waiting the 10-15 minutes. It seems like either my wife or myself are always either opening the hatch or a door throughout the day at shows and each time it reactivates the light. Just easier for me to unplug it at the weather pack connection beside the radiator.

Yep, that's why some folks like the switch purchase and install!
