Excellent choice in wheels. Hard to beat the quality and customer service of CCW.

update: Ok, so my vendor emailed me yesterday and said that all the tires finally came in from Yokohama and my tires and rims were shipped and should arrive this Tuesday! Wahoo! I also ordered a set of aluminum jacking pads and will probably pickup a small/lowpro jack from either Kragen, walmart or something. I have a question: I know the car should be on jackstands when doing any kind of work or having it raised for an extended period, but as far as just having it up long enough to change the tires, do I need anything besides to install my jacking pads, break the lugs loose, raise it on the jack, swap the rims/tire, reinstall/tighten the lugs and then lower to the ground (for each rim/tire)? also any recommendations on a "locally purchased" jack would be appreciated. I also plan on lowering the car in the near future 1 to 2"s
thanks

If you find a good jack post it here!

As for your tire changes procedure I always went with 100 ft lbs on the lugs and then re-torque after a 100 miles or so. You may want to invest in some locking lugs too!

Did you mention anything about tire pressure sensors? Did they install new ones for you? Let us know if you need the procedure to reprogram those.

Ok so, the package is coming in tomorrow. I also ordered a set of jacking pucks and those are coming in thursday. I might just be patient and take it to a tire place and have them do it all, I don't know if the tires/wheels will come mounted or not (though I'm guessing they will?). Also, I was planning on transferring the original tire pressure sensors I have on my factory magnesiums to the CCWs (so I didn't order any), and then eventually putting drag radials on the back mags for the drags. I also currently have a lug on each rim that needs a key (that I have). I will probably use that for the CCWs. (that's a luglock right?). I might pick up the low pro jack later on for when I switch the back rims back and forth for track days (will I have to change all 4 to prevent ABS/traction control issues?) Also, when you change the lugs at your home garage, do you use a (large) torque wrench? Any input on this is appreciated. I will post pics once there on my car (which might not be until this weekend, but we'll see). Thanks -Anthony

If you ordered the tires and wheels thru CCW then they should arrive fully mounted/balanced with nice looking wheel weights (if they were needed in balancing). Mine arrived this way.

I opened my boxes when I got mine and threw them on the car, Checked the tire pressure (which was good), and went for a cruise....

Go get 4 hockey pucks. Cost you ~$6 for all 4. Cheaper than the jacking pucks and does the same job.

I got a torque wrench from O'Reiley's for $30 I think. I don't remember the length but its 18" long or so. Mine is rated for 150ft lbs. You need to have it at least be able to go to 100ft lbs for your lug nuts.

He ordered the wheels through Corvette Garage and the tires from them as well. He said he needed to install the sensors still. So if the tires are mounted you will have to break the bead and install the sensors. They will have to be balanced again after that.

If I have to sum up my short experience with these rims so far its WOW. I got home around 630, dead tired from work, so passed out for like 1 1/2 hours then went out to the sporting good store for some hockey pucks and then to kragen for a low pro jack. I found my torque wrench in the mess that is my garage right now. After some mental and (brief) practice on my approach, I swapped the rims and tires finally finished maybe an hour ago. I went out and just got home from a cruise/test ride with the top down on this hot summer nite and already the car is getting TONS of looks with these rims. I'm loving them!

I still need to get new lugnuts (any recommendations?) and I have the luglocks with key, and probably want something similar that will look nice on these rims. I'll probably have the pressure sensors swapped from my old rims at the same time as when my new lugs come in. Sorry, having digital camera issues so no pics yet (and I can't figure out how to upload from my blackberry's camera) but should have pics up tomorrow. Again thanks CCW for an awesome product, and thanks all members of this forum for the helpful advice.

You should have received a set of lugs with the wheels. They are not the locking ones but a nice chrome that would go well with the wheels. If you are interested in locks check out gorilla locking lugs. Every lug is a lock with one key for them all. This way they all look the same.

Glad you like the wheels.

Since you intend to lower your car you should invets in a set of the rub strips such as A&A sells that prevents the under rocker panels from scraping when lowered. They serve another purpose which is that you won't need to mess with jacking pucks and you'll be able to place your jack anywhere. The strips eliminate the need for pucks. BTW, good luck with your new wheels, they look excellent. I'm another CCW owner.
