Thanks for all the great advice I have received on this topic. I did file the report last night with the ladies insurance company. I just hope to get my car fixed with out any problems
Her Insurance should have not increased due to the accidents because it was not her fault. Her rates increased for other reasons, how many hidden speeding tickets she have?
None, zero, nada... Never heard about it either. Instead of $60, she pays $105/month for full coverage. She's insured with Nation Wide for 4 years. She called Geico and got the same answer and it was going to be even more expensive.
Well they are now basing rates on credit scores, sounds like her's may be in the crapper!

To those who say the police should have been called out to the accident, typically police will not show up to a minor accident unless someone is injured (or killed, but that almost never happens in a minor fender bender). What's SUPPOSED to happen is the parties are to exchange information and then contact the insurance company of the party at fault. In the case of a rear-ender (like this one), it's pretty clear who's at fault. An important thing to do, besides exchanging info, is to take pictures of the accident scene, even if it's just with a cell phone, so visual proof of the accident can be presented to the insurance company. I personally carry a compact digital camera with me everywhere I go, just in case of something like this, or if I see something interesting I want a pic of.
what state do you live in???...In Illinois you better have a police report...

TX, and a police report is supposed to be filed, online if it's a minor fender bender and the police don't show up at the accident scene, as I explained in another post (#39) in this thread.

okay...but filing online is still a police report, right???...wasn't trying to rile you up...just wondered where someone could make an insurance claim without a police report...

Actually, it's an accident report that's filed with the appropriate police agency where the accident occurred. And yes, when filing an insurance claim, the insurance company will ask for a copy of the filed accident report, whether it's prepared by the police or by the party to the accident.
My back is fine, she may have only been going about 5 mph if that. I did file but was just wondering. Does anyone in southern maryland know of a good body shop
Two Guys. Ask for Charles Jr. Tell'em Vince sent you.
This is some freaky stuff. I always hear that someone gets rear-ended or backed into when driving/parking around a Walmart, Jordan's Furniture, IKEA, grocery stores, or any other store mostly saturated with woman (no offense to CF woman). This is why I stopped going to these places or go at hours not considered to be peak times.
Any one else notice this?
I was at a small strip mall with tight parking and in an odd configuration too, women beside me seemed to be in a hurry so I waited and she did not get 1/2 way out of the parking spot when the guy from the next row over backing out creamed her in the side. It can happen anytime, anywhere. Good Luck
Hi, I am new to this forum, I have been a member since december but have not made any posts until this one. I am a proud owner of a 02 Mil yellow coupe all stock except for the window valet I installed back in march. Anyway while on the way to Walmart while sitting at the stop light to turn left into walmart I was rear-ended by a lady driving a SUV. I got out of my car and noticed that there was not much damage to my car other some scrathes. I took her info and have decided to call and make a claim against her since I am not sure what else could be wrong. I know going to walmart in a vette is a bad idea but I have never had any problems and I always park away from everyone, plus it is a beautiful day. So would anyone else have filed a claim?
