Since I have a new tranny, I keep mine on Transmission temp. I toggle abck to AVG MPG too.

Most of the time I kept the DIC reading on the odometer, but on longer trips I would set it to the average mpg.

Question for all those that said coolant temp. Why have it on coolant when there is an actual coolant guage?

If I understand the question right you say you can't change the HUD info? Try holding down the page button, mine is a 99' and can change the amount of info displayed
