ALL pump gas has ethanol in it. It's been that way for a VERY long time. It's usually 15%, not 10%. I'm not sure where you're seeing 10%. Either way, you WANT ethanol in your gas mix. It helps by cleaning the fuel system and slightly raises the octane level.
Don't speak forthe entire country. 100% gasoline is available at many stations here in Tennessee.
We've had 10% ethanol on all gas pumps for years now. But my Corvette owners manual states to not use a greater amount above 10% as Ethanol is corrosive in those levels? I've read that higher amounts of ethanol cause rust and corrosion in the fuel system?

We have 15% at all gas stations in California. BELIEVE me there are a LOT of Vettes out here in Cali (especially here in So Cal) and we don't have ANY problems with 15%. It's NOT corrosive at 15%. And it's not going to be even at 50%. I had no problems in any of my LT1 or LS1 cars.

You're right. Sorry. I didn't realize it wasn't mandatory in every state yet.
Here in Alberta only Husky/Mohawk stations use ethanol. The pumps state: May contain up to 10 % Ethanol.
Why do I use it?
Because their regular is 90 octane and premium is 94 octane for the same price or less than the competition. Plus, the competiton's premium is only 90 or 91 octane.
^^^ LOL! E10 doesn't hurt the car for storage at all.. E85 could, but definitely not E10. I stored my Trans Am for over a year with E15 and had NO issues at all.
to the guy who said farmers raised the price because of blah blah blah. thats a false statement because farmers cannot set prices or you would be paying a lot more than 17 percent of your income for food. i farm and must take whatever they give me. ED
+1. Ethanol burns cleaner and at a lower temperature.

Sorry, I didn't mean that they DID do it. I meant that the scare was that they'd take advantage of it and raise prices. (I should probably reword how I wrote that.)
However, farmers profits did go up thanks to ethanol without raising prices at all. This has been confirmed.
Mike, considering where you live why don't you just run straight white lightning? It has to be cheaper, especially if you go out the hollers and make it yourself, plus I bet it does a great job cleaning out your injectors
Just messing with you, my best friend lives in Martinsville and Smith Mt. Lake is one of my favorite spots on the planet. On the serious side, I am in the petroleum business and I promise you that 10% ethanol wont hurt your baby
