Driven my 2000 coupe from Chicago to Tucson and back maybe 10-12 times and it is by far the most comfortable car I have ever driven for a long distance. Our 1/2 way stop is Amarillo Tx. going west and never have had a complaint. Just take some tunes and enjoy.

I think the ride in vette is a comfortable one. I have driven my vette from Waldorf, MD to Savannah, GA 4 times and to Columbia SC 2 times. I love it sometimes I listen to music and sometimes I listen to the Borla Stingers! It also make the trip seem shorter.

Talk about a true apples to oranges comparison!

Actually, my wife and I have the same exact vehicles you have in question. My C5 makes 428hp to the rear wheels and it gets 26mpg on the freeway every time we take it from NYC to Boston. That is unless I get a little unruley and put it to the wood a few times on the Mass Pike. We love going on long road trips in her. It's fun to drive and really comfortable for big guys like me. 6'3 240lbs.

The Land Rover hasnt left the garage for a long trip in 2 years. The seats are short, the gas mileage sucks and it can't get out of it's own way.

This last trip, this past weekend, we ended up hitting traffic in CT on the way up, and it took us 7 hours to get to Mass. I rarely got the car out of 2nd gear. We got a bunch of "thumbs up" from fellow stop and goers. The car wasn't even washed for the trip! No time.

On the Sunday drive home, no traffic, just open road, and we actually joined a caravan of the following....Nissan Skyline, Audi RS8, CL55 AMG, SL65 AMG, Subura WRX, and a VW GTI. The Audi got on the gas when he got next to me...so I took the bait. I got the jump and he layed off the gas. He then gave me a wave. It was classic! We cruised together for about 30 miles, making a racket and turning heads. Good times! TAKE THE VETTE.

Love the Stingers instead of the radio. Wifey tends to disagree sometimes. The Stingers, LT Headers with no cats combined with the Cam make the music I like to hear!

To me it depends on whether the trip is about the destination or the journey. If its the journey, the Vettes the only way to go.

Reading all your post are making me wanting to go now.
I agree it would be a lot of fun driving the Vette on the long trip. Especially since I do not drive it much during the year.
And the journey would be cool.
