Automatic shifter knob

I think I got this from Zip Products - it does get hot in the Summer, but from outside temp - not engine temp

I'm just seeing what options there are. I don't really like the look of a ball-style **** on an automatic. Anyone have photos of a C6 ****? Just curious how that looks.

Corvette Forum Friends,
If you put in the complete C6/A6 shifter you will loose the 3-2-1 gears as C6/A6 has only D and S."
This is why I went to all this trouble myself.
Here is a link to get the shifter **** off the C6/A6.

PM me and I will send you all 63 pictures of the process.
When you remove the shifter assembly from the car "make sure it is in neutral, and you only lift it as far as needed to pop off the cable". It pop's off by placing a screwdriver between the shifter shaft and cable.
The white shifter is what you have 1997-2005 Corvette/A4. You only have to remove the solenoid (pop off both ends), shifter detent spring (push up from the bottom. Carful not to loose the roller on the end), and shifter rod assembly (push metal pin above spring in past small black roller, remove white shifter shaft pin using a 10 mm socket to compress 4 detect claws and push through shifter assembly).
The tan shifter is the C6/A6. It comes apart somewhat differently. The solenoid rivet needs drilled out. The front lever assembly must be removed. In order to do this, the small white locking pin must be removed (pull it straight out).
Reverse the order of the C5/A4 with the C6/A6 shaft.
I used my old boot and tie wraps as I did not have the C6/A6 boot and **** retainer. Also the white tube / black roller assembly that slides over the C5/A4 shifter shaft had to be shortened. I am assuming that the C6/A6 would not.
If you do swap with a C6 boot / retainer, tell me how it worked out. I am not even sure the C6 boot will work (may not let the shifter go into lower gears), but I sure wish I had a retainer instead of tie wraps.
If you have any questions fell free to contact me.

I did find out it's like $125 just for the **** and you have to get the shifter too from a C6...
It's going to be close to $200 if not more.
So I guess for $20 UPR's ***** might be a better option.
