Default Window Valet problem

I have a Window Valet which works OK, but I have an intermittent problem.

When I press the lock button 3 times, the windows roll up, but after about a second, the windows roll down. This is an intermittent problem and after 2 or 3 failures, it works properly. The other day I used it and the windows rolled up and stayed up with the first attempt. When I came out, the drivers window was down, and the passenger window was up. I no longer trust it and roll up the windows before I get out and lock it.

Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas?

You might have to calibrate the "strength" -

You'll press '1' on the DIC to access the window
configuration options.
Under the '1' options, there's four more items:
1 - disable
2 - enable and calibrate
3 - window up strength, normal
4 - window up strength, strong
You'll press '2' on the DIC to enable and calibrate the
windows. This option requires a pin number. The last
paragraph of the disclaimer describes the relationship
between the PIN number and the serial number. The
serial number is on the disclaimer page and on the unit.
Please be sure you've read the disclaimer.
To enter the pin number, just key it in on the DIC.

The sequence:
1) Get into configuration mode by holding 'reset' and
pressing 'unlock.' You'll hear a triple chime and see the
tach move to 1K RPM.
2) Press the '4' button. Tachometer goes to 2K RPM.
3) Press the '1' button. Tachometer goes to 3K RPM,
speedometer goes to 10 MPH.
4) Press the '2' button. Tachometer goes to 6K RPM,
speedometer goes to 40 MPH.
5) Enter the PIN number. (See the disclaimer.). Each
time a digit is read, the speedometer needle will
increase by about 10 MPH. If you press a digit and the
needle doesn't move. Press it again, completely.
If all is accepted, the windows will drop to the bottom
completely. The horn will toot to warn that the windows
are about to go up. The windows will go up completely.
Once everything is settled, you should be able to raise
and lower the windows with three clicks of the remote
(three ‘locks’ to raise; three ‘unlocks’ to lower).

I've had a Window Valet in my car for years and have had no issues with it.

All of the instructions on the features and the calibration is on their site.

We have the Window Valets for sale for the C5, C6 and many of the GM trucks. We sell them for $129.99 plus shipping.

One of my windows is starting to drag a bit more than the other. Probably a weakening motor. As such, I've had to re-calibrate the window valet. It worked fine once it "learned" the speed of the window.

I've had a similar experience. Plus a few times, I "thought" I watched the windows go up and stay up, only to come out and find them down. Then I wonder did I really watch them go up and stay. Every time I concentrate on watching, I have no problems or should I say no surprises. Once in a while they come back down momentarily after going up. If I close them again they stay. I haven't tried calibrating the strength. Guess thats on the to-do list.

Geez Randy, you could have given the guy a little bit more to go on rather than providing such a vague answer

i've experienced the same thing, and i HAD calibrated the device before it started to happen. i pay real close attention to it now just like you. unfortunately when i discovered it the first time it was in a parking lot and had been left alone for about 3 hours. fortunately nothing was out of place or missing. i'm not certain i trust it completely at this point, however.
