I was trying to find a cheap camera mount for the C5 for when I go to Road Atlanta, but everything that looked like it would work was expensive. So I went to Walmart and bought a $6 table tripod and took the top off of it. I then mounted that to an L bracket with a couple of washers and screwed it into the bolt that I use to hold my radar detector.
There is the required metal on metal contact and the cord on the camera can be tethered to the rear view mirror. I am hoping this will pass tech.
Here is a clip of it. I tried to drive on the bumpiest roads and be as jerky with the shifting as I could(while obeying posted speed limits).

Very cool. The image looks good.
I'd like to make one that sits a little further back so that you can see me shifting and some of the interior of the car as well as through the windshield.

I was thinking about the same thing. Perhaps some kind of arm attachment to the passenger window...
dyiguy posted his version of a in-car camera mount. This one goes behind the seats so you get a view of the driver as well. I am working on making mine right now.
