I cannot believe how low c5 prices are getting. People are asking more for some of thier late model c4s.C5s are a better car as well.

Asking price and selling price are two very different things.

The market for an $15k C4 is basically nonexistent. The market for a $15k C5 is quite good. There are some C4s in the for sale section at $20k+ that have been in there for over two years.

The same trend is exists between C5s and C6s too. You can get into an '05 for low-mid $20s now, or an '06 C6Z for $40k. So the market for these immaculate '03 AEs and other "premium" C5s for $30k+ is also very poor.

The older a Corvette gets the more some people think they've got a classic. especially when they watch Barrett Jackson.

Sometimes the market just does not make sense, but like any vehicle, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for the car.

You couldn't give me a C-4 there are just to many different types of cars out there to over spend for a C-4. I had a 84 and at the time it was cool but now... nope don't want to go backwards.

It's just a car. They do devaluate with time; even if it's a garage queen that has never seen rain etc. There are exeptions though, but a C5 nah. It's like some people on the forum have said "they don't realize so people paid more for their Kia minivan than I did for my C5."

Simple supply & demand. When you drive around the streets, how many C4's do you see in relation to C5 & C6's? When you go to a car show, how many C4's do you see in relation to C5 & C6's?

I used to be into second generation Trans Ams and Z28's. Years ago, you could barely get a grand for a 74 & up Z28. They built 2 MILLION second generation F-bodies.... The prices can be $20k + now for a clean low mile example. The 70-73 cars can be $35k +

Its all relative my friend.

As previously stated, the price you can actually sell your car for happens to be exactly what it is worth. Tons of bargains to be had on many vehicles right now.
