Where is the date code on the tire. Near the rim ????
It's on the tire side wall along with the tires size and stuff. It will be a set on 4 numders encircled. The first #s are the week of the year it was made ( exsample 4109...41 being the 41st week into the year of 09. last #s , 09... being the year made ). BTW, I think they only put it on one side of the tire so look on both sides.
Well the new front set of Goodyear tires came in today and this time they were a little bit older then the ones they first sent I don't get it ! Anyway so I had them install the BF goodrich set. So I'll just have to see how I like this set of tires. But I'm so burned out with GoodYear that Im not sure I want to go back to them. Thanks again to all of you that posted and remeber to always check the date codes when getting new tires.
I bought some falken rt-615 from discount that came in over 3yrs old and they wouldn't do anything about it, have also bought some "special" priced tires from tirerack that were over 4yrs old which they said have a shelf life of 5yrs, but gave me a 25% discount on next purchase...I'd like to see a test done on a 5yr old warehoused tire and a brand new one

The Discount tire store by my house ( Flower Mound TX ) said they will not stock and recomend NOT buying a tire more then 2 years old and they recomend that you get new tires every 5 years. If it hasn't been too long I would go back and show them this thread or ask them for a explanation why the Flower Mound Store In TX, policy about selling or stocking old tires is diff from theirs. I'm sure the policys have got to be the same. If you need more help PM me and I will give you all the info.
