Default Coupe: Solid top headliner sagging

Just noticed this happened to my car when I was home in July.
The solid targa top headliner has fallen down like you see in alot of cars. Anyone had to get this fixed?

Mine did the same thing so I slowly and with the help of some goo gone removed the headliner from the top. Keep in mind that the liner has a thin plastic membrane that actually sticks the liner to the roof and do everything that you can to keep this in tact as it acts as a moisture barrier when when put the liner back up. unless you know of a different way, I wouldn't even bother trying to remove the original adhesive as you will probably wind up just rubbing through to the fiberglass. I made sure that both surfaces were free of debris and dry then applied 3M brand spray adhesive that I bought from Lowes to both the headliner and the top....then you wait about 5 minutes to allow the glue to tack. Carefully then lay the liner to the top(I also had used painters tape to ensure that nastiness of spray glue didn't get all over the place upon application) after the liner was in place I took a soft painters knife and began to push the liner under the frame, smoothed it all out, and left it to dry inside. It looks like new.

The key is the plastic bag that seals it needs to be in tact! Mine had a tear in it and when I put it back up I found that with out the vacuum of the bag the liner falls away from it (it will make sense when you see it). Now I have to re-remove it, I'm thinking about spraying in the bag to get it to stick to the liner then reapplying the bag to the roof?

Not worrying about impressing anybody on my '97 DD, I did a short fix.
Piece of 1 1/2" by 1/4" wood slat, painted it flat black, cut a length longer than width of top, jammed it in there, bowed with contour of roof, works great, can't see it, it's above head.

Yes, I know it's the red neck quick fix, put it works.

HMMM...sounds like a decent amount of work to do it properly. I think I'll wait until it gets worse to tear it completely apart and fix it the right way. This forum rocks!!!!

This sounds like a fix i would like to see pics of before attempting it.
Thanks for the info guys. Wish i still had the glass top now. Wont be driving the car till late August again, and not sure how much time I will have to do the fix.
Thinking about doing the seats anyway so looks like it is time to work on the entire interior.
