I haven t read about anyone thinking their Vette was worth $100K....Nothing wrong with wanting a car to hold its value! And I don t know anyone that "degrades others" because they don t have a Vette or they drive something else.... There are alot of Proud Corvette Owners out there though. ME INCLUDED. AND- A Corvette feels "BIG"? LOL Sometimes, KB, You type stuff in just to be typing!
How so? You must have not been on the forum for long.
There are lots of stuck-up owners... there is a difference between being "proud" and being "stuckup". I'm a proud owner too.
Yes a vette feels "big" compare to compact cars. I didn't say it's an advantage or disadvantage. Small cars are easy to park, cheap to replace, and doesn't break your heart if it gets scratched or something. On the other hand, the vette is opposite.
A Delorean? Really? Haysoos, those things are ugly. 2.5L Renault V6 of about 130HP will really get the blood boiling, too.
My dream car's a stupid Ford (GT40), but the one they built for the street has a stupid truck motor that needs a blower to be fast. Still more money than I'd spend on a toy.
Well, you could polish your car to a chrome like finish for some extra bling. I actually witnessed a custom red painted Delorean. Not even kidding The guy was proud of it. To each his own.

I saw that at a car show once. I think the whole thing was from when I was younger, like 10-12. I also always loved Corvettes, thats why I too made sure it was something I could achieve. With all the looking I have done on the Delorean though, I see mainly reviews of High part costs, nowhere to fix or repair it if something goes wrong, and a very high lack of power. I think not having at least 200HP would drive me nuts after having my C5. I will stick with Corvette, that is unless I could buy that DBS,
My 25 yr old son says the same, can only presume its back to the future.......
probably so, I mean, the standard ones without the bttf stuff do not look special at all. maybe its just those vents that add a little bit to the car, but theres NO way I am putting something like that on my Vette
I must admit I have seriously been thinking about selling the Vette and buying a Porsche 911. It's not that I don't like the Vette anymore, it's just wanting something different. Must be my second middle age crisis

911's are pretty sweet though.. we don't blame you. It will be very costly to own, are you prepared for that?
Some of you would be surprised, people have cars for other reasons than speed and looks. Not only am I a DeLorean owner but I also own a Triumph TR6. Of course neither of them are fast and a lot of people think they're ugly but I think they're fun. Another thing I don't really get is some people on the forum actually tell other people that they don't want something. I think one person can decide on their own. They did want opinions, that's what I read. Stainless steel can shine, by the way. They way it shines can vary a whole lot depending on what you want and the kind of money and/or time you have: http://deloreancarshow.com/dcs-2006/...m/DSC01637.JPG
Essentially everyone's right about it being as slow as going backward, but if speed and style(depending on your preference) is what you want stick with 'Vettes(I like them too, try not to bash me), the DeLorean is somewhat of a noveltly, it's rare and hardly see them outside of car shows. They get you attention, stupid jokes and comments, and questions in places that can slow you down even more(for example, a gas station). It's not expensive to maintain as long as it's done properly, like any other car. As for parts availability, there's plenty to go around:

A friend of mine at work is seriously thinking about selling his 95 911 TT. It is high mileage but in excellent condition. He almost never drives it. I would seriously consider it if I had the garage space and the scratch to maintain a Porsche.
A Delorean or a Bricklin always interests me but when you take a good look at both of them they're no more than a quirky car at cruise nite. Since I have my C5, I have lost interest in a lot of other cars. There are only a few older cars that I look for (57-58
Caddys & 61-63 Tbirds)...I'd like to own one of these. I admit that I am drawn to some new Italian exotics. Last week, a Lambo Gallardo rumbled into our cruise nite, I was lusting for this, no doubt.
