I love my Corvette, I mean, it's an amazing car. I hear all the time I am among younger of the Vette owners, (24) so I should be proud, happy, which I am. The other day I ran into a guy with a Delorean. While I know I have and I have heard these are awful cars with many problems and such, growing up it was always my dream car. I don't know why, and most of you may think "why? you have a Corvette", but it got me thinking if I should buy one. I guess I just am not sure how to deal with my materialistic self at the moment. Any suggestions? Do any of you guys ever wish you had something different?

Yeah...a C6Z06 You should be proud of your vette and the young age attests to not only your good taste, but good work ethic.
You dont want a Delo...save your money for mods or another corvette...
If I wish I had something other than corvettes, it's one of two reasons which I'll explain:
1) The stuck-up owners.. A-holes that think these cars should appreciate all the way to $100K so no one else can buy it but their own selfish, basically people that feel superior about having a vette while degrading other people. I'm all for it as long as you treat the car with respect, I don't care if you are black, white, yellow, or brown, make $100K or make $50K (if you save up money, nothing wrong with that), 20 years old or 60 years old.
2) The corvette tax.. Exact/similiar parts for other cars with double the price. But I do see decent price items all the time. Intakes are a good example.. not really that much more. But there are items that are way overpriced.
As for driving something else, I guess a vette does feel a little big. But a small car is not good for cruising. So you might as well get like a civic for DD and vette for weekend.
I am sure if you drove one you would be very disappointed and that would end your fascination. I believe we're talking a turbocharged Renault engine. Please.......

Interesting.
I just finished reading both "Corvettes from the Inside" and Zora Arkus-Duntov's biography. One quote that stuck in mind was along the lines of "John Delorean wanted to build the world's best car, instead he re-invented the Corvair"
Sometimes I wish I had a Bugatti but then I come back down to reality.. my vette does everything I want it to do so it's enough. That being said, I wish I met other guys our age driving these cars... it's always Hondas (riced out crap) and other random gay ****.
I'm 57, just got my first vette. I also wanted one back at 15. Funds, life, family, all came first or got in the way. Glad I got one. Also not the fastest car I've owned. But the fastest I've had in awhile. Yeah all the market studies show I'm the prime meat to buy these toys. Almost cut my hair, happened just the other day. 57 working my way up to 24. I'll be there soon. Always enjoy your vette wether a GQ, DD, or GOFAST.
Yeah, you guys are right, I am sure if I drove one, I would never want one. I will continue to have fun with my C5 and Mods. It has power, style, taste, and can shine up nice! My total dream car is that Aston Martin DBS, he he, But that will have to just be a dream. I will most probably buy another Corvette somewhere down the road, It has never let me down so far.

Sure, I've wished I had something different than a Vette at times - otherwise I would still have one. But having a Delorean wasn't one of my desires. Right now, my preference is to get back into a C5 or a C6.
I wanted a vette since i was 5, my uncle picked me up for a ride in 1969 for a ride in his 67 327 coupe, when he brought me back home i remember getting out of the car and telling my parents who were standing in front of the house waiting for me that when I'm old enough I want a vette, i was 21 when i bought the 1st one then bought another later on, now I'm on the 3rd, funny thing is when I was 21 people said, oh u drive a vette to show off, now they tell me its a mid- life crisis, make up your minds people I say if you never owned one you will never understand, it's not about anything they have said, I simply just love corvettes and hope to be driving them as long as I'm able to drive, drive what you desire whether it's a delorean or a vette, if you have a passion for a particular vehicle thats what you need to go for as long as you can financially support your decision that is

I haven t read about anyone thinking their Vette was worth $100K....Nothing wrong with wanting a car to hold its value! And I don t know anyone that "degrades others" because they don t have a Vette or they drive something else.... There are alot of Proud Corvette Owners out there though. ME INCLUDED. AND- A Corvette feels "BIG"? LOL Sometimes, KB, You type stuff in just to be typing!
