I was running a few numbers through my mind driving home today. Take an average of 50 mph for my typical commute (according to the DIC readout). 50 mph x 2 hr = 100 miles; 2hr/100 miles x 1,000 miles = 20 hours per 1,000 miles; 20hr/1000 miles x 62,000 miles = 1,240 hours.
I have spent 1,240 hours behind the wheel of my Corvette over the past 2½ years. Now I could think of better things to do than commute to/from work, but if you have to do it why not enjoy the ride?
It's silly math excercises like this that help me justify buying the Corbeau seats and possibly adding a double din nav stereo. It's also the reason I got rid of those Borla Stingers in favor of Z06 Ti's.
No "Queen" here, 30,000 miles in 4 years. And that's only summer driving as we leave for winter every year. Iowa is no place to be in Nov-March, if you have a choice!
PS 3GenVettes--now the question has to be--do you wear your suits in your car when you rarely drive it?

Why does this drive so many folks bonkers? I suspect a bit of jealousy. I'm not jealous of the folks who "drive it like they stole it" .... That's their choice. (As long as they don't drive it into me at an intersection.) For me, looking at and showing a pristine Vette holds as much joy as driving it. Plus, I don't have to drive mine every day, and I don't.

Why does the idea that someone chooses to drive their car occasionally and not put a lot of miles on it offend some people so much?
I believe if you aren't hurting someone else - and you're not violating written law, then do whatever the Hell makes you happy. If buying a Corvette and then having it become garage art makes you happy - go for it. If racing it at HPDE's makes you happy, go for it.
If driving it hard and never washing it or waxing it makes you happy go for it. What does it matter to anyone else?

Exactly
I have 4 cars , 3 corvettes. I can't drive 4 cars everyday.
I do drive my convertible 4 to 5 times a week. I also have a motorcycle that I often drive . Am I supposed to equally rotate my driving of each vehicle?
