Air Intakes ?

If the filter was as installed by the owner prior to the baseline Dyno then it proves that he got no gain from the K&N CAI or perhaps was actually loosing power. (Maybe over oiled)
Stock depending an year is right at 295-305.
So getting to 321 with the mods and tune got about 20 which is great and pretty realistic but still nowhere close to 50 as some claim.
The X-pipe is part of the gain. Most don't include the X in catback gain discussions although it should definitely be considered in the equation.
I appreciate we can only rely on what we read as " indepenant and unbiased" However I'm alway suspect of claims made by the manufacturer in a magazine they run advertising in. Sometimes they neglect to tell you they changed plugs, wires etc.
Quite often the before run is done at much higher engine temps etc.
There have been cases that tuners pulled a plug wire or left a rag blocking the intake for the before run

That said. The very 1st thing I did when I bought my Vette was Corsa Catback with X and CAI (After removing the BSMs)
My 2004 A4 Dynoed at 308 rwhp with the CAI/Cat/X no tune.
Done a couple of mods since then.

So 290 rwhp for a stock auto would be just about right.
321 rwhp/0.82 (again estimated @ 18 percent loss) = 391 crank.
I can easily see someone picking up 40 CRANK hp from a CAI and X-pipe with catback.
The hard part for newer members is translating between RWHP and Crank HP...alot of manufacturers dyno test mods, then use a "liberal" conversion factor to obtain the numbers that they publish.
I do however have faith in vette web's tech articles...if you peruse some of them you'll find they are pretty fair and concise.
