Or you do your poor kid to be a favor and don't name her after something as stupid as a a car.
I don't have any kids just yet, but plese do him/her a favor. I know you have a big passion for the Corvette just as much as we do in the forum, but it's a no. How about Elizabeth instead? or Elizavette?

A middle name like that and she can be sure to be teased her whole life. And when she is grown up, how are you going to reason the choice of that name ?
Meh, Vette wins. Its not like it is a first name or even Corvette, I'm not to worried about her being teased, I was named after a candy bar and didn't catch any greef. (Heath) I don't think name calling is as prominant as it was in the 70's, at least around here. My two kids in school don't think so anyways.
It will definately be unique and that was our goal.
Cora, Vette, Zora. My wife is due in April and vetoed them all. My first daughter's middle name is from a bar we used to hang at when we first met. Rosecliff, so her middle name is Rose. If we can name her after a bar, then I see no reason why a car wouldn't be ok. To be honest, my daughters name should be Nissan Sentra. There wasn't a lot of room but you work with what you got.
I agree with a previous post. The kid is going to have the name for their lifetime. I think selecting the name based on your vehicle preference is not the right thing to do. I like my C5 also but wouldn't do what you are suggesting!
Vette is a name you would give your dog or cat, not your child.
With your dog/cat, at least you could say "I'm taking Vette to the vet"!
Looks like he has decided to go with Vette. Lets move on and wish him good luck for the baby. Who knows it might just be the coolest name for the current generation.
