I bought a black Z06 and wish I had got Silver white or red. You can see every little swirl mark in teh clear and gets dirty so quick. Thats why I am going to paint my car flat black. My .02

black is PITA! Looks great for about 15 mins after washing/wax.
MY, dont waste your time with the rest Besides, light colors wear better than dark colors.
I love my silver, but if the 02 MY Z I test drove was an 03 or newer I would of gotten that in a heart beat!!!! My bank wasnt giving good rates on cars under 03
I guess none of you guys want to get noticed in traffic, or just cruisin around cause black and silver Z06's just get lost in the mix. There are quite a few of black, silver, Z06's here in my city. Actually quite a few MY too. Different strokes for different folks. As much as C5 Z06's look awesome in black the color just doesn't head turn like bright red or yellow. That being said I was this close to buying a black Z06 before my TR/MR came about. I think C5 Z06's look great in any color.
To me, yellow is the best choice. Before looking for a C5, I was never a fan of yellow, and wouldn't even consider getting a yellow Z. That was until I saw one in person. My mind was made up right away, I had to have yellow. It just POPS out at you and brings out the amazing lines of the car. You will not blend in, but hey it is a Corvette, if you want to blend in get an Accord. I get tons of looks and compliments on the car, and most people tell me how much they love the color. Of course, there's nothing wrong with any color C5Z, IMO they all look good, but like I said, yellow just pops out and really gives it a supercar look. That's just my two cents.
If you don't know how to properly detail (polish) a vehicle, it looks horrible because you see nothing but swirls and micro-marring in the sun.
If you do know how to properly detail, well, then, chances are you'll never own a black car again as long as you live
I have two black cars and they are both beautiful. However it is like a second job keeping them that way.
I'm thinking about selling my low mileage Z for a EB Z.

I agree maybe he wants to drive the deam thing on sundays not polish it
...but i agree, black C5's look superb, i owned one a while ago

My dd is black; if it wasn't such a depreciation hit on it I'd sell it just because it's black and I'm sick of it.

Not to pick on you, but this is a good example of how black looks bad if you don't know how to upkeep it properly - look at the rear bumper, middle part, around the corvette lettering. Swirls, RIDs, improper light reflection, and that's just in a picture with a little bit of light shining on it. In person it probably looks like most black cars - like somebody took sanpaper to it. Black FTL.

You are absolutely right, the pics are from the time i just purchased it and altough the paintwork was in good condition there was a lot of marring/ swirls. It's showing the most on black.
However, i do own FK shampoo, a makita polisher some zaino and meguiars products, dodo juice and zymol wax. It looked a lot better the time i got finished with it That's exactly how my yellow Z is pampered atm.
- that being said, you dont want to see the condition of the cars in France
