Yea, I just think he should investigate the 02 more. It does not seem like he is really wanting to do all the modding himself..I was just re-reading is OP... for the money, you can't beat the 02..if the owner can show documented work and the car is in decent shape. Even with more miles is a good deal. Look at it this way.

So the 03 is 2k cheaper, but is bone stock..

For 2k more, he is getting:

cam package..lets call it 400 bucks (not evn include labor springs etc)
Headers 1500 (again low estimate)
borla cat back- call it 650
Stage 3 clutch.. easily over 1,000
Beefed up tranny?? ok unknown
Vararam= about 200(used ok)
tuned- call it 500

And this does not include labor.

Do the math. Like I said, if the car is in good shape..etc.. I would seriously consider it

All that for 2k more and none of that includes labor. He also said car is not going to be a daily driver anyway.

Another 03 vote.
Check the condition of the tires, and as someone else said they are not oem chrome wheels.

Absolutely the 03!!!! The reason is I own a 03 and love it. Second you can mod a car your way. Thirdly the 03 has probably been driven in a easier manner than the 02.

Thanks for the advice guys. I will be looking at the 03' first and will probably end up getting it. The reason I like the 02' is because of the obvious HP difference and the fact that I probably won't do that much to the 03'. I guess you could say the 03' is more practical, but the 02' would sure turn some heads.

Frank, the 02' seems to be clean. He did the mods in April. The only thing I am worried about is that he didn't save all of the invoices and that he had the work done by a small local shop that doesn't even have a website. I found a clip of the car on you tube. I think they did the work out of someones garage. The car has never been to the track and has been well taken care of (that is what he said). Selling it because he doesn't have the time for it and when times are better, he wants to build up another car with more HP.

Ahh gotcha..fair enough, good though you are at least doing some homework. Go with your gutt in the end. If he can't provide invoices, and you are uncomfortable with who did the work, no worries then, maybe the 03 is safer.

I just did not want you to pass up on a potential good deal, since most people here were just "assuming" the 02 was a beat up car, not having seen it or anything...I hate speculation and assumption base what is said off the facts

Good luck
