Default What would you do?????

I am looking at two Z06's and can't decide which one to get. The first is an 03' with 22,000 miles. Garage queen with OEM chrome wheels and tinted windows. The next is an 02' with 40,000 miles but has a lot of bolt ons. MS4 cam, LG headers, Borla stingers, stage3 clutch, beefed up tranny, shorty antenna, varram intake, and tune. Sounds great and is throwing out 440 hp at the wheel.

The car would not be my daily driver and if I bought the 03' I would at least want the varram and headers put on.

Which one would you get if the 03' garage queen was $2,000 less than the nicely modded yet higher millage 02'?

That is what I was leaning toward, but wanted to see if anyone could talk me into the 02'.

The 03 less miles and probably has not been run as hard since it's not modded.

Since you didn't post prices it's tough to say which is the better deal. If I was in the market for a C5 Z06 I would do this:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1571712940-post365.html

Remember it's $Canadian and look in in the Canadian Regional events section (for sale) for more information.

get the '02 then, sounds like thats the one you want anyway! Once you put the intake and headers on the '03 you're close to the '02 price

No mater how much HP I have had with past cars, I have ALWAYS wanted more!

If the 2002 has good documentation, that would be my direction.

Good luck,

While I now have a KB supercharger, that is not what I planned to do until after I drove mine stock for a year. During that time my mod goals changed a bit.

I'd go with the '03 and run it for awhile stock.

Then decide exactly how YOU want to mod it (to meet your goals).

Then go for it.....

The 02 would save you some money IF you're not in a smog state. Minor mods like that aren't really hard on the car. Look in the fender wells and on the mufflers for crusty rubber. If there is, he's tracked it.

BTW.. no such thing as OEM chrome wheels on a Z06. They're either aftermarket wheels or they're factory wheels that have been chromed (like mine)

I'd go with the un-modded one.

if it is modded up, it probably has been driven hard too. be smart and buy the 03 and mod it yourself , if that is what you want. don't buy someones toy.

I would go for the 03. Less miles one year newer and if it is a garage queen and no mods, it probably has not been abused. The 02 on the other hand has all ( or at least most of the goodies already installed), and it may be in great shape. However, you don't know how hard it was driven.
One item, is you never mentioned the price for each. If they are both in your budget, then again the 03.

I would go with the 03.

I think its best to start with something most likely less beat on.
Leave that for you to do!

I also agree, that your mod choices may differ from someone else's.

very good advise. Mods are great if they've been installed correctly and the Vette hasn't been beat.
