Default Be careful

I have purchased numerous items on this forum and with this one exception all have been as described.

If anyone is interested in seeing a real mis-representation send me your email and I will forward my $4000+ shafting.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Just from the price and the fact that it was a scam I am guessing turbo or super charger, just a guess. Please tell me more and better luck buying in the future.

Default The "Professional Packaging Low Mile Excellent Condition TT Kit"

Hello Everyone,

Just some info on me, Im an STS Turbo Dealer here in Florida. I have seen these kits new, used and very beat up in my years so I know what to expect with a low mile professionally packaged used kit. This kit is not what it was advertised folks. Nick clearly took advantage of the situation to make a quick buck and shaft a fellow Corvette Brother.

I want to share with the forum what exactly you get when you purchase something from forum member: NIKDSC5

This STS TT kit was purchased by Doug and shipped directly to my shop where we would be performing the install over the upcoming holidays. Needless to say Doug did not get what Nick promised in his STS Turbo Kit For Sale Thread.

Doug paid extra funds to Nick for his "Professional Packaging Job" so the kit would arrive in good ready to install condition. It seems Nick took full advantange of the situation and basically tossed everything in to whatever boxes he could find and kick everything out the door.

In Nick's rush nothing was packaged properly and I mean nothing. It seems that a Mr. Coffee box is adequate packaging for a $1000 ball bearing turbo? Granted there was some broken up styrofoam which did nothing more aside from make it down in to the oil fittings on the turbos which now need to be dissassembled and cleaned out. The lack of proper packaging also allowed the turbos to bang around gouging the inlet side of the compressor housing.

To make matters worse there were 2 shipping boxes, we have twice the carnage in the second one folks. A $400 Tial Wastgate still attached to the hot pipe completely unprotected. During shipping this item actually broke through the side of the refrigerator box and dragged on the ground form New York to Florida. The bent intercooler was also just tossed in the box with all of the crushed charge pipes with whatever packaging fluff he found. Everything banged together for the 1200 mile trip.

We also have a cut and electrical taped back together wiring harness, bent exhaust tips, beat-up fuel injectors with mismatched o-rings or none at all (injectors were just tossed in a ziplock bag with numerous bolts and adapters) and even an airbridge with a nice big hole drilled in to its underside.

I have yet to completely organize everything and get a full count of what is missing but we have quite a bit of work ahead of us. I have spoken to Doug on the phone several times and he is a great guy that just ended up making a purchase from someone less than honorable.

We are still going to go forward with the installation for Doug and get him up and running within the time frame we agreed. Nick made our job alot harder with his lack of consideration for anyone other than himself but in the end Doug will be a happy STS TT Owner and we're happy to be the ones taking care of this for him.

Please keep in mind everyone there are many honest individuals here on the forum and 99% of transactions go through without a hitch. This is just one of those where a dishonest seller pulls the wool over the buyers eyes just to get what he wants. Nick I hope you enjoy the money because in Doug's, mine and after this post many others your so called "Excellent Rep" here on the forum is complete rubbish....

Pics do not lie, here is a "Professional Packaging Low Mile Excellent Condition TT Kit"

Horrible! It looks like after years of abuse, he ripped it off and swept it up into some boxes for shipping!

Hopefully the OP used his credit card and his credit card company can help him out. I had a botched landscaping job and my credit card company came to my rescue, credited me the amount I paid and then went after the business owner.

Pictures are worth a thousand words and this is absolutely horrible!

Agree 100%!! That is horrible.

I also recently got screwed by a fellow forum member who misrepresented the condition of the part that he was selling and then screwed me over on the shipping charges. Of course it was relatively low cost item but it has made me not want to buy anything from any one on this forum ever again. I learnt my lesson.

I hope everything works out with your situation. Good luck!

Best wishes to getting the problem resolved quickly and that it doesn't have to go to court if that is even possible.

This is absolutely AWFUL. Nick obviously just wanted to make a quick buck by ripping this thing off his car, and just throwing it into whatever boxes he could find. A COFFEEMAKER box? For $150? You gotta be kidding me. For 150 he could have bought the proper supplies, why didn't he. And he hasnt logged on since the 5th, I wonder why that is? Maybe he wants to go out with a bang?
