Default LED help needed???

I ordered the plug and play LED lights for the footwells and rear hatch, they are direct replacements and they work great, but. With the headlights on all the inside lights stay on, including the mirror lights. I dont have a clue what happened, I will change back when I get home to the original but can some one explain??

That's weird. You didn't have the dimmer turned all the way up did you?

Odd... I know the C6s will do this as the LEDs don't draw enough and the BCM keeps the circuits energized. You're the first person I've heard of that this has happened to in a C5, what all do you have wired to the courtesy light circuit ie. Radar Detector....

I experienced an odd situation with LED's a couple months ago.

On my beater 95 KLR650 motorcycle...1980's technology.

The factory wiring uses the opposite signal light as the ground for the signal that you are operating (thru the dash signal light indicator).
Real funky set up.

With factory in-candescent lights, the opposite light would not come on.
With a LED it would.
I think there wasn't enough voltage potential in the opposite in-candescent light to light up, but the LED because of its lower requirements would.
I never finished my mod's on this, but I was going to rework the grounds and install some diode's.

With that in mind, wonder if you have some form of the same situation.

alot of conversions come with a inline resistor. i just really makes the circut drew more current like the oe bulbs would. led draw very lil current..i had to use the resistors to correct a fast flash turn singal on a few motorcycles i used the leds on. but never in the car

It knocks the voltage down, at least on the mods I do... Current draw is still negligible.

His HU REM is connected to the HVAC harness, he's removing that and seeing what he has then...

You might want to start at square one again, return everything to the way it was when everything worked and add one Mod at a time....

Ok , I put the power meter on 16 pin, yellow wire , when you open the door you get 12 vlts, every thing lites up , when you shut the door start the motors off.WHen you turn lights on I think I should get 12 vlts again and get nothing. I had the dimmer wire for the head unit on there before and it dimed with the nav on , now it doesnt. WHere am I losing the power when the lights come on?
