So, tonight I went out to a movie (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY if you must know) and when I returned to the house, I decided to wipe down my VETTE. Now I got a good deal on my MY VETTE and thought to myself that this would not have been my first color choice. I do like it now that I own it, but the question I have for you all is,
"Why did you choice the color you have?"
My first VETTE was BLACK and I love a clean BLACK! Biatch to keep clean though.
My first choice would be EB, because I think it is just the most attractive color on our cars.
I was looking for torch red and when I saw this pewter beauty I quickly forgot about red. It was just so classy looking. No regrets almost three years later. Plus, I had a bright red chev pickup and it was a frickin' cop magnet so I think this color may have saved me some money
Also, unlike black, this color is so easy to maintain. It has to be pretty dirty to look bad.
I had a 1977 Black Vette, so I knew what I was getting into, but not sorry. I do have to clean it every day though.
I have had White, Red, Orange, Steel Cities Grey, etc. Vettes in the past and I got tried of all of them, but never black (as long as it is clean). The Spiral and Cyber Greys come in a close second, but harder to match paint if anything ever goes wrong - with black I just have to pull the panel in question, paint it and slap it back on.
I found my '98 on the used car lot of a local Chevy dealership about 10 years ago. Even though arctic white wasn't my first choice, the car was very clean. The color has grown on me over the years and I always get compliments on it at shows. I don't think I'd have another color now. Funny, but my TrailBlazer SS and my wife's Escape are also white.

My story to a T. I really wanted a red FRC but I love my pewter.
Mine definitely chose me, I was looking at a black one first, then I saw the pewter color, it more than met the criteria I had - miles, options, price etc., I just love the pewter color and easier to maintain than the black (love my black pick up too)....
Of all colors, I dislike Red and White equally as much as brown. But when I got my first look at my new 2003 50th AE coupe I was smittened by it and I have never not liked it. Sometimes when I'm feeling really low, I go out to the garage and just be amazed by the beautiful Glistening & Clean Anniversary Red Paint ! A beautiful black is a close second, but I'd never be able to keep a black car clean, and living so close to the Airport, a clean white is unattainable living here. If I wash my wifes white Jeep at 9AM it will have a coat of soot on it by 2:30 PM ? = Waste of time and effort. God bless the FAA and the bureaucracies everywhere. What would we be without them? Just like trying to fight city hall, but bigger, and more maddening !
Originally, I wanted to get a black/tan/tan vert. But, as this was my first vette and would be my first vert as well.. and a DD, I searched till I found a black/tan coupe with all of the factory options (i.e. z51, cd changers, hud, electric driver/pass seats, etc..)
Although a lot of folks seem to not like tan interiors, I'm happy with mine. Black is just a bit of work to keep clean, though. Personally, I would like to have a serious chat with the .err. person that decided to engineer into the side mirrors that camel bladder to allow water to "drip" out hours after washing.
If I ever purchase another vette - would it be black.. probably, would it be tan interior.. probably tan/black interior (or black/red interior).
Gotta love how silver looks on the C5 but it seems like 40% of cars on the road are silver these days. I went with a torch red since that is the color of the C5 that first caught my eye. There are a lot of colors I would have been happy with I would have walked away from Yellow, Blue and green. It's cool though to have so many colors to choose from. Something for everyone.
I wanted something different, a color you don't see every day. Went looking for a Fairway Green (expecting a coupe) and found a convertible relatively close. Bought it on the spot and haven't regretted it since.
My other choices were the Medium Purple, Navy Blue or Nassau Blue.
