Default [TIRES] Will 315/30-18 fit on stock Z06 rims? Looking at Falken RT-615's.

Hi guys,

I'm looking at new tires for the Z this winter, and I've heard that our rear Z06 rims can accommodate wider tires than the 295's they come with.

First question is, would a 315 fit? Say, the 315/30-18 Falken Azenzi RT-615? Any issues I should be aware of? Anyone have pictures of a 315-anything on a stock Z06 rim?

Next, if these tires will work for the rear, I would need 275/40-17s up front as Falken doesn't make this tire in the 265/40 size. I currently have 275/40's up front on my current tires, with 295/35 in the rear and they work well together. Would 275/40 and 315/30 go along with each other? I've heard that certain size differences can cause trouble for the Traction Control / Active Handling systems.

Does anyone have these tires? Are you happy with them? Any pictures?

Lastly... can anyone recommend a place to purchase these (besides Discount Tire)? Tire Rack doesn't carry them and I know of no other online tire stores; I dont want to order from Discount Tire because their shipping charges to Alaska are disgusting. (More than TWICE what Tire Rack charges for Alaska shipping). I wish T.R. sold Falkens.

They fit, go for it:

I was also running 275/40/17 up front, no problem at all with the traction control.

Wow, thanks for the pics! Those look great. That's exactly what I want... a nice, "square" shouldered sidewall. I have never liked that the 295's look stretched on these rims. Do you have a pic from the side? I'd like to see how the 275's look in terms of sidewall height, compared to those rears.

I had the exact sized Rt-615s on my prior C5Z...they were awesome. I believe the gentleman who purchased the car from me...two years ago...finally wore them out. They are great tires - not expensive for the performance, and they perform very well.
Go for it, you'll be very happy.

The sidewall differences look funny, you will want a 35 series up front, I know I did. Here are side pics:

those tires above remind me of advan neova's but i don't think they are? i can't place it

also, the kumho XS is out in 315 30 18 and 275 40 17 and is a faster tire than the falken 615. it also doesn't grease on the track like the 615 did.

My fault. At first glance they looked like the 615's.

Thanks for those sideview pics. I guess I'm quick to spot the sidewall differences only because I have the 40 series up front currently, and so I've had a few years to become aware of it.

If, instead of going with 275/40 up front, I went with 255's instead... would that be a huge sin? I know the stock was 265; so I'm still pretty close to that. Would there be any drawbacks to going slightly narrower in front?
