I have a question about installing a TI system on my car, the guy I called about doing it tells me he needs to lower the transmission and the suspension, is this the case? I really dont want someone dropping my suspension and transmission if this does not have to be done?

That's probably because he doesn't have a lift or way of lifting the rear end high enough to get the over-axle pipes on. I wouldn't have anyone touch my transmission and/or axle just to install a catback exhaust. That's crazy.
Thanks Fellas appreciate all the information, I have access to a lift so I will take it to my buddies house and put it on the lift and do the above and put the exhaust in myself. Much appreciated all.
Yep - he's clueless. Here's mine in progress on my lift at home.
Problem with doing it at home without a lift is you have to get the rear end at least 32" off the ground to achieve the clearance you need to get the stock exhaust out and the Ti's in.
Get an experienced, competent exhaust shop to do it for you.
dont worry I wont let him with in 15 miles of it...this is another reason I enjoy this forum, before I do things I ask here to make sure I dont screw my car up or let someone else screw it up. There is only one guy in the area who specializes in Corvettes he is up in Raleigh
If you put it on a lift as you say you can,,drop the sway bat supports,,you are looking at 30 to 45 minuets,,taking your time!! As others stated,,he is clueless. One hitch,,A4s are a bit more trouble than the M6s. Clearances are a bit tighter!!

Now we know where to find you!
Thanks all, I called a friend of mine who has 3 lifts at his house, we are going to put these suckers on next weekend, I will let you guys know how it went. have you guys seen a thread that shows how to fix the vacuum hose issues with the AC system?
Yep, you need to drop the sway bar and small, passenger-side gas tank shield on an A4 to get the proper clearance. Only need to drop the sway bar on a manual.
