Default Will You Keep Your C5 For Life?

Curious....

Most people "say" that it's a keeper, but things change. Especially if it's a daily driver type.

I had a rare Firehawk that I thought was a keeper.... it's gone.

How about your current C5? Be honest.

Bought my C5 in Sept 2001, loved the car, semed then like a keeper then, but sold it in March 2008 after seeing the Z06.

Now have a 2008 Z06

There is always something better out there...most people here will probably upgrade sooner or later, but the C5 will never be forgotten

Sure will. I always said from the time I was a little kid that I would keep the first one I owned. She now has 135K on her ticker but oh well. I will add another one day and that one will be driver/trader but the first one stays to hopefully pass down. Besides the only thing better than 1 Corvette in the garage is 2 of them.

Being realistic, I probably won't keep this one for life. I have no plans of getting something else at this point, but have been around long enough to know everything changes.

For now I am still loving my 99!

I plan to keep my C5 for a while, but anything is possible. I'd like to park a C6Z next to it in the not too distant future.

I've had my first & only Vette now for 7 years, this month. I'm still not tired of it. It's still new to me.

My car has too much sentimental value to sell. Also once it is paid off, I plan to mod it beyond any value it would have as a keeper to someone else. 427ci, upgraded tranny, bodywork etc. At that point it wouldn't make sense to try to sell it. I bought it to keep in the first place anyway

I plan to keep it for a long time. I'm only 25 so I can't say for life.

Doubtful. This is my second C5, and I've had a C2 and a C3. I'll more than likely have a C6 ZO6 in the future.

Little chance of that. I'm looking forward to a C6, hopefully in the near future. Had a C1 long ago and if I had that back I'd definitely keep it. My dear old gray haired mother sold the damned thing when I was in `nam. I guess she didn't think I was coming home.

I'm now on my third C5 since late 2004. I think I might have the keeper, but who knows...

I think I we will always have at least one C5 (my wife has one also). But might add another generation to the stable. Don't care for the C6's, so might see what C7 has to offer...

the only honest answer would be whatever it is you're feeling at this moment. unfortunately, things change, people change, car models change, etc so an honest answer would only be an indication of today's intent. at this very moment, i intend to keep my 04 CE convert for a very very long time. because it is a bit unusual (notice i didn't even broach the word "rare"), that may enter into a decision to keep it forever, but who really knows what the future will bring. hopefully only good things, but......................one thing i do know for certain is that it won't be replaced by a C6. i'm one of those rare folks that just can't get the 6th generation to grow on me. didn't really find it appealing the first time i saw one in person and still haven't changed my mind.

Bought mine 10 years ago and plan on keeping it forever. Actually, I've got way too much invested in it to sell it. If something happens to me, my son gets it.

ill probably have around 350-400k miiles on mine before i sell it. i may put in a new engine/trans/etc at that point depending on how much i like the c7. if it sucks, ill keep the c5 until an asteroid hits it.
