Default 04 Commemorative Edition

Looking at upgrading to a C5 from a C4. What is the differences between a Commemorative Edition C5 to a non CE model?

All CE's in 04 where same color, blue with light tan interior, usually came loaded with options.
I like the color combo.
I am sure a owner of a 04 CE will chime in with more info

In 04, only the commemorative editions had blue exterior with the full shale (and natural) interior. all other colors had black dash and door panel tops. They also had the commemorative badging on the front and back and on the steering wheel and seats. It's the same interior that came on the 03 Anniversary Edition.

Not quite accurate. The 04 Z06 CE had black interior.

So the exterior and interior are different? Same wheels, engine, etc as a coupe?

The Z06 had different rims and wider tires, also had an LS6 405hp motor versus the LS1 350 hp motor in the coupe and vert

I'm not familiar with the C5's at all. Are the 04 CE's a coupe, Z06, or what?

Yes they made a coupe, a convertible and a Z06 model of the CE. They made approx 2000 of each give or take a few.

The 04 CEs are all REAL sharp. You may want to look at the 03 Anniversary editions as well. Overall, I think you would enjoy any C5 - the big decision is Z06 (fixed hard top), coupe (removal top) or vert. I love them all

Just some more cool CE info to share.
The most interesting CE car made in 2004 in my opinion is the Export coupe version known as the Z18. This was a removable roof panel coupe that had the LeMans Blue metallic paint AND the cool stripes that were used on the CE Z06's. It also had the Z06 carbon fibre hood, and Z06 seats with the C5 logo on the headrest portion. It was however an LS1 and all had manual transmission. The Z18 also had the red Z06 calipers, Goodyear Supercar tyres and the FE4 Z06 suspension. The really cool part of this car, they only made 46 of them....

C5's go like this:

They were built from '97-'04.

in '97 the introduced the coupe. Base Vette with a 345hp LS1 engine.

In '98 the introduced the Verts. They produced coupes and verts for that year. Same engine as above, LS1.

In '99 they introduced the FRC or Fixed Roof Coupe. It had a fixed roof or "hardtop" with a short back glass. It had the base LS1 engine as well, and all of them were 6 speeds if I'm not mistaken. They made coupes, verts, and FRC's for '99.

In '00 the lineup was the same as '99 with those same models and LS1.

In '01 they introduced the Z06. It had a 385hp LS6. All Z06's produced are 6 speeds with Z51 suspension standard. They are all the FRC body with the hardtop and short back glass. They all have wider tires as well. It is important to note that the Z06 basicly took the place of the FRC. In '01, coupes, verts, and Z's were produced. Regular Vettes had an LS1, Z's had the LS6.

In '02, the model lineup was the same, but the Z's LS6 engine took on some changes and now produced 405hp.

In '03, the anniversary editions were introduced. Anniversary Red was the color and shale was the color for interior. It is important to note that all of the '03's had a 50th insignia, but the Actual Anniversary car was it's own breed with the colors listed above and 50th logos on the side. Made in coupes and verts if I'm not mistaken. They also produced Z's, normal verts, and normal coupes that year.

In '04, the Commemorative edition cars were intoruduced. The color was Lemans Blue with shale as an interior color. Made in coupes and verts. The Z06's also came in this color, and had the distinctive silver and red stripes on the hood and trunk lid. Hood is made of carbon fiber on these cars if I'm not mistaken. regular coupes, verts, and Z's were also introduced. The commemorative cars have a special badge that says 24 hours of lemans or something. I'm sure someone has a pic of a nose emblem, and can tell you the distinctive differences

All of the info that I posted is true to the best of my knowledge. Some of it may not be correct. Somebody please correct me if i'm not

This should bring you up to speed.

Like the AE the CE comes very well equipped. Most of the options are available on other cars as well. The CE specific items are the shale interior, stitching in the seat back, wheel center cap emblem, trunk/hood emblem. Z06 has a black interior.
Standard items on the CE that you can get are msrc, high polished wheels, hud, etc.
<---------- the nicest C5 made

Also like the AE this is not an exclusive car as a lot were produced.

C5 Z06 has the FE4 suspension, just a notch up from the Z51 (FE3) cars.

I thought the number was even higher, but I just looked it up and it's a total of 6899 in Lemans Blue for the three models.

The Z16 is the way to go, the '04 Z06 is the class of the C5s and the Z16 is the best looking... just my opinion of course!!
