Default C5 Projector Question

Anyone used these yet? Was considering them but of course wanted to know if anyone on the forum had experience with these.

If you have NOT tried these, please reframe from posting things such as "It's eBay trash", "I would rather buy Light Canons" etc.

The main point of this post is to obtain information on how they perform not give a bias opinion.

I like the lights, But the seller has 143 sales with a 92.3 %, That is not good at all, I would pass for that reason. Not a good seller.

In consideration to the lower price remember that these are not HID lights. They will use the normal light bulbs. I used a set of these after market lights on my BMW and was very dissapointed. They look identical. I haven't heard any corvette folks rate these yet but I am guessing that the result will be similar. JMOT

If you're looking for the lights mentioned we have a new shipment coming in next week with 55 watt HID kits (any temp).

I drive with these to and from school through the week (night classes) and love them. I've sold lots on here and everyone loves them

My lows are 6000k

even if they are halogen based, the cost for the lights and then a set of bulbs and ballasts are still WAY less than what you can get them for from other places

Thanks for asking the seller this question. I do agree that this is a good price even going with the HID kit at $355. Now, we just have to wait to start getting feedback from CF members

Just my 2 cents, I do not know the eBay seller.

ACA made a great true projector set up for the C5.
They replace the OEM headlight capsule and use the OEM headlight adjusters and mounting parts. They originally shipped with the custom headlight capsules, Phillips slim 35 watt HID ballasts, Phillips HID lamps, and a custom battery based relay wiring harness.
Many CF members have these and the original pricing ranged from about $600-$1,400.
The install process has been well documented on CF. I think Patches had the most complete step by step post. Just do a search. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...otsa-pics.html
ACAs are excellent lights with one small flaw. The low beam projector and the high beam reflector housings are both molded together in a single piece, just like the OEM.
But due to their design many users were unable to get the high beams properly adjusted once they had the low beams correctly adjusted…….since they both move as a unit.
While I see this as a minor issue because I rarely find the need for high beams with my HID projector low beams. But other users see this as a big flaw.
If you do buy some, be sure to buy and use a good custom battery based relay wiring harness with these or any other HID lights.

JMO having installed a few sets of HIDs over the past few years.

BTW, the eBay seller just sent me four additional pics of the ACAs they are selling. They do come with a wiring harness and have Phillips A9 65w Halogen bulbs in the projectors. They look just like my ACAs, less the HID parts. If I were buying these I would buy my HID parts from JW at JW@JWMotoring.com as he is a trusted forum vendor and has great products and service.

Jim

How do the ACA lens covers hold up in regular driving? Easy to scratch and scuff, get bug damage?

Sure would be nice to see at night
