Ok, so... After some happy bufoonery this last weekend, my diff is now howling pretty loud. I had some 4.10's installed about 20,000 miles ago, and they always seemed to make just a bit of noise, but it's bad now. I have run Redline oil in the diff, and it has never been to the track or had drag radials or any other R compound tire on it. The car has a H/C package on it that makes 425hp and 398tq to the tires. I assume that the gears were set wrong as I don't think they should be dead already.
I dont want to take the diff to anyone here in town as I don't feel that it worked out real well for me last time. I'm trying to decide between a DTE diff, and an RPM diff. I really don't have the money for either, but if I gotta spend some money, I'd rather do it right and not have to worry so much about the diff dying again. I gotta find the money, so I'm probably a month out on this.
I'd like to hear opinions of those that have dealt with these companies. Is there any real advantage one way or the other? Please save the "I know a guy that knows a guy" stories. Looking for solid intel here.
BTW, if someone from either company is reading this, feel free to pitch your product.

I have an RPM Stage IV A4 transmission and 3:42 gears from RPM. Had a small minor issue after installation with a leak that developed in the transmission (pan gasket) but all in all a great combo and a solid install.
When I had the pan gasket replaced I also had the diff fluid changed since I had about 3K on them since new. My mechanic said everything looked great! I would recommend RPM!
I think both companies have a great reputation, so I don't think you could go wrong with either. FWIW...every time I have a drivetrain question, I call RPM and they are always willing to take the time and answer all of my questions.
