Seeing that you asked, it does not agree with my senses.
I have a feeling that after you do that, you will regret it.
You can even try it out with vinyl... good luck.
Definitely considering vinyl just in case I have a response to the finished product. Thanks
There was a member here some time ago,(jesse something or similar) who did what I thought was the best red/black combo I have seen to date. It was also the only one I have ever seen done like that. It looked quite a bit better,I am sorry to say, than your concepts( I don't mean that in a bad way)
From the front end,the car looked one color, and from the rear another.Quite unique.
Maybe some of the old timers around here remember the car or member.I can't remember his forum name or I would search for it because it looked pretty darned good and you should see it.
Edit: His forum name was SonnyinVa. I am searcing for a pic,but so far it looks like they have been cleared

Found it, thanks. That looks good. I am feeling better about this concept.

That's the one! Good job. I was rushed for a dinner date and didn't have much luck finding it,but you obviously did not.
The difference is you have an frc and his is a coupe. Now, I love the carravagio spoiler and especially on an frc. I could see this paint scheme modified a little to where the black would extend further back on the hatch and roll over the top side of the spoiler for your car.
I think that would look badazz!!!!
It's just a personal observation I have had ever since I first saw this car.YMMV.
Good luck and be sure to post up what you decide on and the finished product
Rework 3 or 4 to work with / around the side 'scoop', maybe have that lower bit reach all the way around the bottom and front of the car and you may have something. Definitely go for it, especially with vinyl.
I did #2 on my 81 and it looked great. Soften the corners and extend the spikes and bring em to point. Maybe a complimentary color instead of the stark contrast you have now....
The only one I could live with of your choices is #2, but it would need refinement from its angular look. The lines and shape of the car are really lost in every other choice IMO.
From: ALL governments are legalized mobsters, so doesn't matter where I live :(
A toss up between 1st and 3rd...Instead of paint maybe you want to look into doing a vinyl wrap instead, this way if you don't like it, or you get bored with it you can change it for a fraction of the price.
Scheme 2 rounded to fit the cove contours and faded rather than stark red to black would look different and potentially very nice. Then do a similar black to red fade treatment on a center stripe, black out the lower rear fascia and add black center wheels.
