Hey Guys.
Just bought a C5 Z06 after coming off a C6 Z51 lease. I tracked the C6 a bunch of times and escaped without too much incidence, but its time to get more serious.
I was definately concerned about the C6's brakes, which had horrible brake fade, even with Hawk pads, to the point where I had to turn in with a few laps left in a HPDE session.
I'm looking to keep the C5Z as primarily a track car, so street legality is a secondary concern. I welcome all Modification suggestions.
My principle concerns are suspension and braking. What would be your first upgrades? Brakes? Coil Overs? Of Course cost is a concern, but looking for good performance for a bargain.
My first thoughts are a C6 Z06 brake kit and to lower the car on the stock bolts. Are coil overs worth the extra $$? Then headers and exhaust system. Any suggestions on the exhaust. What are "x" pipes? If i dont care about getting the car a state inspection, would I benefit from installing straight pipes?
Any other suggested track mods or other info would be greatly appreciated.
