i have been going back and forth on the type of wheel setup i want to do. I have a Quiksilver 02 Z06. I was looking on CCW's website and i came across the Flushstance site they have. This is exactly what i want and have been researching to find out if any other vettes have done a setup like this, but no luck. So i thought id post to see what you guys thought about it and if anyone has done it please post some pics... I talked to John at CCW about doing it with the classics and he recommended for me to go with a 10.5" wide wheel up front with a 265 tire and a 12" wide wheel in the rear streatching the tire a little with a 315. Anyone attempt this or have a similar seutp?
49 views and nothing... Not to surprised like i said i havent seen another vette like this in all the pictures i looked at. Just tired of the same wheel and tires setup that for the most part people do on C5's. Guess i will just have to do this once my bike gets sold.
It's a bit of a tuner thing. Everytime I see one like that I always wonder why they don't get tires that fit properly.
Doing this to a vette might be a little difficult since the whole thing with flushstance is to get the tires to tuck. The vette would have to be slammed. Not impossible just wouldn't look right in my opinion on a vette.
I would like to see it though just to see it. If you want to do this I say go for it and post up pics. Can't beat ccw classics.
I have the CCW's on my vette and they're very close to being exaclty flush...19 x 10.5 on the front with 265's, and 19 x 11.5 rear with 305's.
I would suggest however 275's on the front as the 265s look a little narrow and too stretched. The 305's are maybe 1/8" past the qtr lip so the 315's would defiantely stick out...
^^ its not for everyone, thats for sure. You're right, it is mainly done in the tuner world. i have seen a few GTO's with a set up like this, they looked ok. im not really a fan of the way the GTO looks to begin with though. My car is already pretty low. I installed the 8" long bolts from Zip. HiVoltge if you can do you mind posting some pics? Have you lowered yours? i have seen a few C6Z's with some pretty aggressive offsets but nothing in the C5 world. Does anyone have a 12" rear and a pretty good drop that they can post a pic of??
Looks to me that the intent is to take a wheel that's too wide for the car and stretch a tire on it that's too small for the wheel. That way the car looks to have really wide tires on it. Just like, if I put a HUGE wing on my 88 Accord and take the hubcaps off it and take the springs out of it and take the muffler off of it, people will think I have a race car.
Dood, to each his own, but I HIGHLY recommend getting tires that fit the wheel.
Its not to look like you have wider tires than what you do. A 315 isnt exactly a skinny tire as it is. Like i said there are some cars that stretch it way to far and it looks ridiculous, i agree. Im not talking about doing that. I am saying run a wide, low offset and and a little bit of negative camber for an nice street able aggressive stance. Im not exactly into the way a lot of others do it with stock sizes and a monster truck wheel gap. If you dont like it you dont have to do it. Im just looking to see if any other C5 owners have accomplished this or tried it. Something out of the normal black or chrome Z06 wheel.
this is the link to CCW flush stance website. There arent any vettes but there are some well done cars, like the whit S2000 with the fully polished Classics.
Mine have not been put on yet but I can tell you I would address your thoughts and concerns directly to John. When in doubt go with the, subject matter expert. I have found that CCW provides a quality product and expert advice.

Are you doing something like this? i spoke to john about it, hes the one that told me to achieve this he would run a 265 tire on a 10.5" wide wheel up front and a 315 tire and 12" wide wheel in the rear. He said it may stick out about 3/4" from the fender in the rear. If your doing a similar type setup post some pics when you get them. Also what sizes are you going with?

Waiting for the wheels to arrive and will be posting in a week or two.
OK,,,found the link,,,not feeling it for the vette!! Don't think it would look right AT ALL!! Personally it think it looks a bit odd and not very functional on the little Mitsu!!Looks like it comes from the fast and furious/drifter bunch!!To each their own,,,try it ,,if you don't like it ,,its just bolt on stuff!!
